Blake Bortles QBR from yesterday was a 3.8, his passer rating was 114
They were saying on the radio it is one of the lowest in the last 5 years
HOW? The QB throws for 3 TD passes no ints and rush for a TD, his team wins 51-16, that is an absolutely ridiculous stat
The stat is suppose to account for what you do in winning situations, well Blake was great in the 2nd half but not the 1st
Their are QBs that had 4 and 5 ints that had much higher QBR's, that is a useless stat and ESPN needs to stop shoving it down our throats

Fumbles, low 3rd down %, low completion % likely brought his score down..
The only people who use QBR are ESPN and people ESPN pay.
Best worst game ive ever seen...or is it worst best game ive ever seen...?
QBR is a made up stat.
There is no formula. If there were, they would have released it. But there isn't one. They just make it up as they go along.

One of the lowest in the last 5 years !!!
Finally, we have a formula derived from a former Enron employee (and audited by Arthur Anderson) that proves Gabbert is better than Bortles !!!

Kinda like PFF grades.
I posted this in the NFL at Large this morning. It's seriously a joke
Completion % is heavily weighted - and it's an important stat - it just doesn't tell the whole story - and espn's formula is indeed a joke.

ok one fumble wasnt fully his fault, but why is fumble weighted so huge, the QB is getting hit by 300 lb men
He completed over 50% if his passes, how bout having 3-0 td 0 int being weighted super heavy and rushing for a freaking TD that should way over weight 2 fumbles
passer rating is way better, because it counts what the QB is doing, passing the freaking ball

Yup, do they account for drops, battled balls, or if your WR is tackled by the DB and the refs dont call it
To me, if a magical number(QBR) doesn't pass the common sense/eye test, then it's not reality. Is ESPN really saying that a QB will only win 3.8% of the time having the game that Bortles had yesterday? That is the definition of a joke and is something that should be treated as it is: a controversial number designed for page clicks and conversation; never to actually judge how a QB is playing.

And message board posters looking for something to either complain about, or to bash a player they don't like.
It's kinda like when PFF gave Rodgers a negative grade after a 5 TD game. It's over-analysis.
But... first thing I would do. NOT CARE.
Even if they attribute both of the lost fumbles and every incompletion strictly to Bortles, I still don't know how they can get a QBR that low. Especially considering how their dumb stat incorporates running with the ball (where he was 4-17-1) and when it favors scoring later in the game (28 second half points directly related to Bortles rushing or passing).
Then again, it's always been a ridiculous stat and they probably bask in people arguing about it on message boards even it's for all the wrong reasons.
Keep this in perspective. It is a well known fact that ESPN staff in their entirety spend their days examining LeBron James nudes and then they just toss out crap like this as an afterthought. Don't be too bothered by something these idiots say or do.
QBR is pretty dumb. I wouldn't take that crap seriously.

And salty message board moderators who have nothing better to do than be condescending and insulting towards posters for no reason whatsoever.

Written like someone who takes these ratings very seriously. You should really be outraged.

Yeah, either that or someone who gets tired of reading 60,000 posts, of which 59,000 are mocking people completely unsolicited. By the way, I liked how you whined about Tom Brady yesterday like you rail on everyone else other than your personal buddies for doing.
