He crushed OU's pro day earlier today, running a 4.43 and jumping 35 inches at 225 lbs, Mixon is going to be an absolute stud at the next level and has David Johnson like upside as an elite runner and receiver. By all accounts he's been a great kid off the field since the 2014 incident, which was obviously disgusting. If the Jags do their due dillgence in digging into his background, and are comfortable with what they find; Mixon could be a huge steal in the 2nd or 3rd round similar to how David Johnson was a steal when the Cardinals selected him in the 3rd a couple of years ago. If Leonard Fournette and Dalvin Cook are top 10 talents than Mixon should be up there as well because he's as good as both of them, I know this is a sensitive subject but if the kid has really cleaned up his life the Jags would be wise to pounce at this elite talent, that we'd be getting at a massive discount.

Just look at the numbers, as a runner (1274 yds 6.8 ypc) and receiver (37 catches 538 yards 14.5 YPC), elite level production coming from an elite all purpose back who just happens to be a elite freak athlete at 225 lbs.

I dont think Joe is athletically on par with johnson (hes explosive af, as evidence by his 41.5 jump) is but playing style i could see it.
Sure but we're not drafting him.

Maybe we can sign Ray Rice while we are at it. 2 headed girlfriend beating dragon back there. Have you watched the video of what he did to that little blonde chick in the subway restaurant or whatever? That is some thuggery right there, he may have behaved the last 2 years when his draft position is at stake but that sort of behavior should be a huge red flag.

She hits like a dude
TC won't touch him with the incident

A clone, without the decent human being part attached. People who get caught doing what he did should be sterilized and locked away. Not given millions of dollars and a career for the ages.

Allowing guys like Mixon into the NFL sets a bad example for young football players everywhere. Wanna knock a chick out? Just do so freshman year and play nice for 2 years....damning video evidence or not, if you can do things with a football, you can hit women and get away with it.

The NFLs so screwed up on domestic violence, it's no surprise they've chosen to screw the pooch on Joe Mixon. Keep that mut away from Jacksonville. Hes scum.

Another "holier then thou I've never made a mistake" member of today's society. People sure do love to pass judgement these days, with absolutely no room for compassion or forgiveness. I'm always willing to give people (who have earned it) the benefit of the doubt and a second chance, have you never been given a second chance? By all accounts hes been a great kid off the field since the incident, are we supposed to punish him for life? Get off

your high horse, people like you are (ironically) worse than people like Mixon.

I've never struck a woman, much less smashed her face into a bloody pulp and ran away like a coward.

From 2016: Oklahoma suspended Mixon for one game in 2016 after an incident involving him and a parking attendant. After receiving a parking citation, Mixon confronted the attendant, tore the citation in half, and threw the pieces, which hit her in the face. According to the incident report, he then "inched at the officer" with his vehicle "to intimidate the officer.

How's that for this so called "great kid?" I believe in redemption and forgiveness but I don't see someone who has changed. He was given a second chance and the value he places on that chance is almost nothing based on the incident with the parking attendant. We've seen how getting mega millions on an NFL contract magnifies the issues in many people's character. Not everyone deserves an unearned second chance, much less a third. This player is a thug and radioactive, steer clear.

<p style="font-size:18px;font-family:'proxima-nova', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color:rgb(35,35,35);">On Tuesday, reporters went round and round with Mixon, who was obligated by the Orange Bowl to attend the media session.

<p style="font-size:18px;font-family:'proxima-nova', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color:rgb(35,35,35);">Are you sorry about what happened?

<p style="font-size:18px;font-family:'proxima-nova', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color:rgb(35,35,35);">Mixon: “I won’t answer that.”

Do you have any regrets at all about anything?
<p style="font-size:18px;font-family:'proxima-nova', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color:rgb(35,35,35);">Mixon: "No."

<p style="font-size:18px;font-family:'proxima-nova', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color:rgb(35,35,35);">

<p style="font-size:18px;font-family:'proxima-nova', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color:rgb(35,35,35);">What did you learn about yourself during your one-year suspension?

<p style="font-size:18px;font-family:'proxima-nova', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color:rgb(35,35,35);">Mixon: “What do you mean what did I learn?” (This was followed by Oklahoma spokesman Mike Houck, seated next to Mixon and chiming in periodically, reiterating that Mixon only wants to answer football-related questions.)

<p style="font-size:18px;font-family:'proxima-nova', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color:rgb(35,35,35);">

<p style="font-size:18px;font-family:'proxima-nova', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color:rgb(35,35,35);">Did the one-year suspension change you?

<p style="font-size:18px;font-family:'proxima-nova', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color:rgb(35,35,35);">Mixon: “I don’t think it changed who I am, but it definitely made me a stronger person.”

<p style="font-size:18px;font-family:'proxima-nova', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color:rgb(35,35,35);">

<p style="font-size:18px;font-family:'proxima-nova', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color:rgb(35,35,35);">What did you mean by your tweet in September, quickly deleted, that said this season is dedicated to your haters?

<p style="font-size:18px;font-family:'proxima-nova', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color:rgb(35,35,35);">Mixon: “I know what I meant by it. Y’all just blew it out of proportion.”

what should his punishment be?  life in prison?
I would need a thorough evaluation before taking him. Thats a serious concern what he did, even if provoked. But it was in 2014, and he hasn't done anything like it since. Either way anger issues that lead to physical violence is a big red flag. I wouldn't support taking him in 2nd, or probably even 3rd. Someone will take a flyer tho.

See above post. He had issues as recently as November.

No, but I wouldn't want someone like that on my team. I wouldn't hire them or give them millions of dollars. I'd be disgusted if we drafted him the same way I wouldn't want Greg Hardy or Ray Rice.

This is not really comparable to Hardy at least, I mean the girl went after him, shoved and slapped him. If this was a guy who did this, and he punched him, you wouldn't see any of this talk about 'undraftable.' I agree that he seems to have anger issues and is prone to getting in bad situations, but he reacted, not initiated.

Dude punched a lady. Punishment is that he's a scumbag.

He is unrepentant about what happened and continues to get into altercations, this last time with law enforcement.

She slapped Mixon, he broke her face in 5 places, broke her nose, her sinuses, she was messed up.

Greg Hardy threw a girl into a bathtub and bruised her back and face. (Awful but in terms of injuries, i think Mixon did more damage)

Both men are unrepentant about beating women but Mixon gets a pass because of his age.

There is a difference between men and women. Women slap sometimes, you don't break a 110 pound woman's face for slapping you. He showed no concern for her well being after she was out cold on the floor. Later on he says he didn't regret anything.

Why do we need to keep making excuses for this kind of behavior. It's all cute and harmless when they are 20, by the time they are 25, they are greg hardy.
I wouldn't draft this dude in the 7th round if it meant the Jags get two first round picks for 5 years. That's how much I despise what he did.

Don't understand the arguement? You ever had a beer a had a drive? Could u have got into oncoming traffic and made mistakes? but Oh no your sorry? I compare DUI to what the kid did. He doesn't have a habit. I seen plenty peoople derailed by DUIs ..... I think he can make it past this and be a productive player...
If can see going Mixon is round two, but ideally we'd want our starting OG with that pick.

Simply put, if the Jaguars don't go RB in rounds one or two, and Mixon is still sitting there in round three, we have to draft him. No way that incident deters me from getting him in round three if he's actually there. I doubt he's there, but if he is we simply can't pass him up. We just can't.

I've never punched a woman in the face on camera no.

If that's a high horse, I'll ride that sucker til the wheels fall off though.

Appreciate the thought provoking and intelligent post though. You ripped me real good there.

Oh, and by "People like me" being worse than Mixon....i served on a submarine in the US Navy. Have a master's degree in nuclear engineering. Run a church youth group in the Bahamas for poor children. You think you can match up to any of that, mister "you're probably worse than the person who got taped punching a woman in the face."

Congrats brother, you're the first on my ignore list. Not even Jdub earned that yet.
