I feel at this point

ST - Suspect, not sure how it will shake out with the draft/rotational guys in terms of coverage on kicks/punts. Hard to judge until you see the final 53. Meyers hopefully continues to get better, Nortman is solid.
Offense - Pretty bad, outside of a few guys(Linder in my eyes is the one sure thing on offense, maybe make a case for Lee/Hurns/AR) everyone is a ? mark. Can our new LT stay healthy, who will play RT/OG? Our QB is just a hair above God awful... Offense will likely be the reason we are not in the playoffs again in 2017.
Defense - Should be a top 5 unit even before the draft, Jack should get more PT and take a step forward, Ramsey and Bouye/Church should really put a strain on offenses with Jackson/Cambell/Miller clogging up the trenches. The sky is the limit with this group and I could see them carry this team to push for a playoff spot.
I still think we are an 9 win or less team, simply due the the fact we have some of the worst QB/RBs/OGs in the league, Ivory is getting old, Yeldon is a bust, WR took a step back as a whole, Lee was really good though. I still don't like Linder at C, and because of that we need at least 1 Guard, a RT, and we have an injury prone LT who hasn't been able to string together 1 full season but once in a 9 year career. I can see us getting to 9 wins at most.
TL;DR On paper, defense is lights out, top 5. Offense will be a bottom feeder without OL help(still early in Off season), ST is hard to judge at the moment.

You can say that again....
Offense will determine how far they go.

Talented in some minor areas that don't determine success in this league. Better than being bad everywhere but we're still lacking in key areas (Offensive Line, RB, QB, Pass rush). Some of it is bad luck with injuries and some of it is just low talent/bad coaching. Who knows now.

We are a little bit above the middle of the pack talent wise...
Maybe 13th or 14th most talented out of the 32.
However. ..
If we look at what our talent is right now and also included another Factor when trying to decide what teams are most talented period that factor would be roster potential and likelihood of improvement. I think we have a lot of guys that could seriously step their game up this coming year and make us one of the top five teams talent wise
You can say that, again..... and again.....and again.

Quote:The defense is ready. The offense is needing some instant impact from the draft, that's always risky.Wow that is really optismistic for you. I am still sticking with 6+ wins until proven otherwise. I really want to say 7-9, but I did that last year, and got burned.
I'll be optimistic and predict 8-8 2nd in the division.

Let's not forget we haven't even had our draft yet.
A team without a QB, Running Back, or Offensive line better than the 1999 Jaguars?
Brunell > BBINT
Freddy T > who even knows who is starting back there, they all suck anyways
Boselli > Albert
Searcy > Parnell
Jimmy > Arob
McCardell > Hurns
Brackens > Dante Fowler Loser
Darius > Church
Hardy > Jack/Poz
14-2 > 3-13

You're being idiotic and if you're going to act that way why post your comments on here? I guess if I didn't know any better it's like you say these things for attention

Quote:On paper Id say 3rd best besides those rosters. They have the potential to be better than both but we gotta wait and see.
An interesting question that presupposes we have to have done something right in accumulating enough talent top warrant the comparative inquiry.
If we operate under the premises that:
- There is no comparison between the 1999 offense and this year's version as it stands now. 1999 was clearly better and as such, this discussion will focus on the defenses.
- No other player will be added or subtracted from the presumed starters
- The defenders we added yesterday reasonably approximate last year's level of play
- We see moderate improvement from last year's rookies/first year players in Ngakoue, Fowler, Ramsey and Jack
then I would conclude the following.
1. Regarding the defensive lines, I would rate the 1999 defensive line as more disruptive overall than the presumed 2017 DL, and I would rate the 2006 defensive line as more physical. 1999 featured Brackens-a very disruptive, occasionally dominant pass rusher who merited a Pro Bowl berth; Gary Walker, an intense, quick, penetrating DT with good leverage and lateral quickness who also earned a Pro bowl berth that year and notched 10 sacks; Seth Payne, a 1997 draftee who started to put his game together in 1999. A strong DT; and Renaldo Wynn, a strong side end who typically made little to no impact. Assuming the moderate improvement from Ngakoue, he could reach the 10 sack level this year, but at this point I don't see him as explosive as Brackens was at this stage. Abry Jones has developed nicely, and I would call it a draw between he and Seth Payne at that stage. Though I really like the inside, pocket collapsing presence that Jackson provides, I would give the edge to Walker. The one edge I would give to the 2017 vintage DL over 1999 at this point would be Calais Campbell over Renaldo Wynn. Jaguars fans have experienced very little productivity from our LDE spots. Assuming Campbell maintains his recent level of productivity, he would give the 2017 Jaguars an edge at LDE over this group and the 2006 group. As for that 2006 group, Ngakoue gets the edge over Reggie Hayward, a FA signee from Denver. Hayward was a good, physical pass rusher, who tore his achilles in week one. His replacement was Bobby McCray, a long speed rusher out of UF who notched 10 sacks who typically wasn't considered very good against the run, which is part of what caused him to fall out of favor with JDR. Ngakoue gets the edge over him, too with a bigger array of pass rush moves. Both DT spots clearly go to Stroud and Henderson from 2006 over the 2017 group. But once again, Campbell gets the edge over the 2006 LDE Paul Spicer.

Quote:The defense is lights out talented...offense will be as good or as bad as Bortles our offensive line.
If we don't make a major investment in our offensive line, then we will not run the ball effectively, control the clock, convert on 3rd and short, keep the other team off the field, keep our defense off the field, etc etc etc. If we don't drastically improve our offensive line, then we'll see lots of 3 and outs, or 3rd and longs, and we'll be 6-10, because Bortles will be dropping back to pass on 3rd and 9, and the other team will pin their ears back and go after our QB, the DBs will cover tight and jump routes, because they know they are going to get pressure on the QB.
More interceptions, more fumbles, more pick-6s, more fan frustration, because without better offensive line play, we'll have nothing but Bortles.
Then the locker room splits as the defense blames the offense for all the losses, the fans finally give up, the stadium is empty, and the team moves to London.
