From the NFL.......

"It's been an amazing career revival for Gabbert. As Boldin pointed out, Gabbert has "wheels" and he "can throw the ball with the best of them." Gabbert also has shown an improved understanding of when to throw the ball away, and how to deal with pass-rush pressure.

Suddenly, Gabbert's contract looks like one of the biggest bargains in the league. He's due roughly $2 million next season, which is about half the price of a quality backup. Gabbert has proven he's a quality backup at worst, and we tend to agree with Boldin: The 49ers could do a lot worse than Gabbert as their starter next year. We'd expect Gabbert to compete in training camp for the starting job.

It remains a question whether Gabbert will be throwing to Boldin in 2016. The 13-year veteran is a free agent this offseason, and he might be looking for a team with a better chance to get back to the Super Bowl."
Fools gold.
I already posted this in the long Gabbert thread. Anquan Boldin is crazy. The 49ers still need to draft a quarterback and when they do, guess who will be the backup again.

They dubbed him Gab Zone which a pedestrian 4 . something ypa.

He ain't on BBs level though
Flash in the pan.
He was sacked like 9 times today. Wonder if the pocket presence issues had something to do with it...

Teams have some game tape on him now to plan better. He didn't look so hot yesterday.
Yeah, looked rough yesterday.

However, they're going back home to face a reeling Bengals team led by AJ McCarron. Cincy is usually not very good out west. Their secondary is still banged up (Adam Jones and Dennard are still out). Eifert is in concussion program and is likely to miss next week. AJ McCarron did not look like he's ready to lead a team at all yesterday.

Gabbert and the 49ers should bounce back next week.
Im pretty happy Gabbert got a second chance. It wasn't his fault he was drafted in the top 10 when he should've been drafted in the 5th round. It also wasn't his fault that he got thrown into the starting lineup 3 years before he was ready. I get the notion "blame gabbert" but he really did get dealt a really bad hand.

Lightning in a skillet

I gotta see it for a whole season from Gabbert. The guy was that awful here.
I'm glad for Gabbert too. He's was thrown to the wolves by a one-foot-in-the-grave coach with no training camp, a porous line, no WR weapons and a crappy defense.
