I am in the opposite situation: waiting for the day I can get DirecTV. We could easily start a whole thread just about TV channels, cables, and satellites if you want.
Now that you have seen the Vikings play against the Cardinals 23-20, would you call them CONTENDERS or PRETENDERS?

Obviously we know the Cardinals are contenders because they just clinched a playoff spot.

The Vikings nearly tied it up. I'd say they're legit Playoff contenders. They certainly have a top defense and running game. Looking at how well they're doing with Teddy in charge, I can only imagine how good they'd be with Bortles or Carr.

The Cardinals aren't as impressive as the national media hypes them up to be. A crappy offsides call kept them from losing that game.

Oh...and Minny is terrible.

Not as impressive? Number one scoring offense in the league! That's all that needs to be said. Don't troll.

I didn't say they weren't good. I said they weren't as impressive as the National Media makes them out to be. Learn how to read before attack someone.

The Vikings are just 1-4 against teams currently over .500 and 7-1 against everyone else. They are definitely pretender's when it comes to real competition.

The Cardinals absolutely are as good as the media hypes them up to be and did not win because of an offsides penalty.

No they are not. They barely beat a terrible Minnesota team with a depleted defense which also turned the ball over 3 times. They're certainly one of the best teams in the NFC, but they're not some Super Bowl favorite like ESPN is claiming.

Edit: You also think the Falcons are a good team so there's that.

I mean....were we even watching the same game?

Z, you know the NFL looks different just about every week. One week, a team will look absolutely dominant, and then the next barely scrape by in a low-scoring affair. It's just how it is. The Panthers themselves have done that throughout the season too.

The Cardinals are definitely one of the best 5 teams or so in the league. No doubt about it IMO.

Of course we were. I saw every play. Earlier in the game, Minnesota got away with a "blatant" face mask penalty at the 10-yard line. Call that penalty and it is a TD instead of a FG for the Cardinals.

They're still a good team. I know they just got whooped by the Seahawks, and they lost convincingly to the Packers who seem to have their number, but the other two games were very close. They just barely lost to the Cards while missing three of their best four players in the game. They were in position to kick a game-tying FG. The other loss was by 3 points to the Broncos.

I'm going to side with Jdub here.

I know you're saying that the Cards threw an INT on their final FG drive that would have handed the Vikings the win. However, Palmer threw the ball out there knowing there was a defensive offsides called and that he had a free play, so why not? Had there not been a defensive offside call, Palmer never would have attempted that pass. The Cards won the game because Dwight Freeney forced Teddy to fumble when all the Vikings had to do was throw it away and kick the FG.

I'm actually referring to the Cards the last three weeks. Again...I'm not saying they're one of the 5 best teams. But for ESPN to call them the SB favorites is ludicrous

Any Packers fan knows Aaron Rodgers does this all the time. The trick has literally won games for Green Bay.

I'd agree that "SB favorite" is going overboard, however, I do see them as legitimate contenders in the Playoffs. It's interesting that they face the Packers the final week of the season. Win that game and the Vikings probably take their division, but lose that game and the Vikings will have to settle for a Wildcard spot.

Cards have a tough schedule down the road. After their last three I'll be looking forward to seeing them Vs the Pack and Seahawks. I'm more scared of those two teams than the Cards.

Nobody is calling the Vikings a Super Bowl favorite. Are you referring to the Cardinals in your first sentence?

In case you have not noticed yet, the NFL changed its scheduling format several years ago to make all Week 17 games divisional battles to make more of them important to playoff contenders. That's why Green Bay and Minnesota will meet in the season finale.

How can you be scared of those teams? Arizona is the one to be afraid of because nobody else can catch up with Carolina in playoff seeding at this point.
