I am pretty sure they thought about rain in Florida.

why put a roof over the stadium? You want to use the climate to your advantage. I think they should do something more creative than just a roof.
It's basically a pole barn.

They already have that rendering where they showed the stadium with some kind of "cover".

Use the climate to our advantage? Our climate has been like this for the past 7 years, and it hasn't really helped us out. A good team is a bigger advantage than the weather. Field a good team, and forget the weather. The NFL is trying to contend with the big screens that people are able to get at home. No matter how large our screens are, how many pools we put in, how many decks we add...the Jaguars can't compete with "home" if its:

-95 degrees outside

-Pouring down raining with lightning

-Or both (see Denver game when Tebow was there)
i mean i'm pretty sure there is technology that will let them put a big cover over the stadium that can retract.

This was somewhat my first impression. One thing is for sure, if the upgrades were commiserate with the team's performance then we'd be seeing a few flatbed trucks and some day laborers wearing General Steel t-shirts.
Attended an event last night at EverBank Field in the Terrace Suites.

While they haven't started brick and mortar work yet on the club seat changes, they have begun to cordon off a few areas where construction will be taking place.  Probably beginning after this monster truck thing next week.
That area is going to look amazing when done, and then the Shipyards when ever that happens.

Quote:In fairness, $200 a year is for one person. If someone has a family of 3, that's $600 a year. Not counting parking and food (which the food is almost unavoidable if you are taking kids with you). Its still not bad compared to other NFL teams, but its a far cry from just $200. That said, it still comes down to a lot of people who would spend that $600 doing something else (movies, concerts, golf, the beach, netflix, or whatever entertainment they enjoy) as opposed to spending that on the Jags.

Accept if you pay for a shuttle they give ya a voucher for a dog and a drink. Or something else cool. Try again.

I've taken the shuttle before when all they've given out is free water bottle. Not to mention you don't know what you're going to get until you actually get there. It could be water, it could be soft drinks (whoo hooo! my favorite), it could be peanuts, or popcorn.

And I don't have to "try again". It's not for me to tell these people what they should or should not spend their money on. I don't have to "accept" anything

Why do we have to accept it or try again?

When it first was proposed/passed, I was hoping it would be done by training camp this year, but this news is sweet nonetheless.
Ochocinco is building the amphitheatre??

I am really looking forward to seeing this thing done.

I think since Khan has bought the team, there has been an upgrade made to the stadium every year.

And not just like better handrails on the ramps.

Like hugely significant upgrades. Pretty cool stuff.

My goodness man, more incentive for me to relocate to Jax.
Quote:Just said on 1010xl that the club seat portion of the renovations are expected to be finished by the first preseason game, and the practice field by early fall.

Kinda disappointing to me it won't all be done by early July, but still excited overall.
I'm an electrician by trade and I'll tell you this, construction is not something that can be just thrown together. It takes time. If you go too fast it's very likely something gets missed or messed up.
