Episodic game...I'll pass on that garbage.  It works with Telltale games, but not with FF7, they're just being greedy.

I'm all about it. New style and all.

Odd.

I've played  video games for decades, but I never played any of the Final Fantasy games.

I've only played FF VIII as I liked the look and feel of it a lot better than VII. I understand that it's iconic and all, I just never liked the look of the game.

I think I had the same issue.

Something about the look just never appealed to me.

Right now, I have discovered Witcher 3.

Haven't played too much of it, but thus far I am quite  impressed.

FF VII doesn't hold up graphics-wise.  The characters are horrible looking due to it being one of the first games to use 3d for their characters.  If you buy FFVII on Steam, you can download a 3rd-party graphics patch that makes the game look so much better.  I would recommend going that route as that game is SO much better than FFVIII or any of the newer Final Fantasys.

I got the Pu Pu platter out of the bargain bin the other day with Diablo III and it's expansion pack, Mortal Kombat X, and Infamous: Second Son. There's a rumor flying around that Fallout 4 is going to be mine come Friday so my Video Game schedule is rather packed. That being said, I've heard good things about Witcher and I'm looking forward to giving that a shot as well.

I also bought Infamous: Second Son the other day as well.  Haven't played yet.

Nor I. I'm working my way through Diablo III. KInda neat to play something whose roots were in PC gaming and having it on a Console.

Never got into the Diablo series, either.

In PC gaming, I liked the Leisure Suit Larry series, Fallout (the original), and the original Starcraft.  Also Full Throttle and The Curse of Monkey Island.

I burned up a lot of hours on StarCraft. I feel like Blizzard did a good job with Diablo and they keep adding detail and levels to the game. I'm pretty happy with things so far.

VI is better than all of them.

Agreed.  I just bought the remake of VI and I'm hoping it holds up to the original.  IX is probably my 2nd favorite of the series.
IX is underrated.  It might be my favorite of the series.  I agree that VII's graphics didn't hold up well, I'll be picking up the remake.

I used to love zerg money hacking/select all and or cannon stacking/teamkilling in broodwars.

As far as the topic, I've never played any FF game, I did play and love Legend of Dragoon...they seem closeish.

LOD is phenomenal. It's similar, slightly different combat but FF is sooooo much more open world. It took me a good 7 hours to find where I was going I'm FF8 at one point bc I kept overlooking an entire island lol

It gets old quick too much crappy dialogue/cutscenes.  Most of the game is running back and forth over long distances and the fighting and horse riding gets glitchy
This game is never coming out, just like all of Squares games

I completely disagree. The dialogue/cutscenes are the whole point. I thought the game was brilliant, I didn't like horse combat but I rarely used it. If I was on horseback I just sprinted the roads, all other exploring was on foot and never got boring.
