Quote:But....our Def would hardly touch him....
Reminds me of that Game of Thrones quote..."what happens when the non existent (our pass rush), bumps against the decrepit (colts line)"
Quote:How many guys do we need to rush the quarterback regardless of who starts?
More than we are allowed to field.
These Darn Cats....you never know when they're going to make a sammich'.....gotta love it!
Great horse meat sandwich!
Now it is looking more like Charlie Whitehurst time in Indianapolis. Matt Hasselbeck clearly was not healthy enough to take a pounding Sunday.
Rushing back from a lacerated kidney to play that defense I watched last night......let's do it!
Love,
Jag fans

If Andrew Luck's goal is to practice, he obviously knows it is still too early to play again. Everyone says the starter will be either Matt Hasselbeck or Charlie Whitehurst.
Of course, I want Whitehurst to start because we need a Colts loss.

Why do you insist on using absolutes?
Hasselbeck reportedly left the stadium in a sling. Clipboard Jesus is the likely starter at this point.
It looks like Stephen Morris is the next man up. Back in the summer, not many anticipated that Kellen Moore and Stephen Morris would be starting QBs in the same day this season.
Of note, Andrew Luck is the only Colts qb signed to their roster for next season. The rest of them are all free agents.

This is not a good year for QBs. More than half of the teams in the league didn't have their starting QB for every game. Almost 1/3 of the starting QBs missed significant amounts of time. Not a good year for QB.

It's the decline in Oline play that's doing it. The Spread in college doesn't create Pro-ready tackles at all.

The aging of the elites isn't helping, either.
Look at how old some of the top tier QBs are. Roethlisberger is 33, Rodgers is 32, Eli is 34, Romo is 34, Palmer is 36, Brees is 36, Rivers is 34, Brady is 38.
Out of that group Rodgers is the only guy that probably still has more than 3 good years in him, and all of them seem showing wear on their bodies this year or last with the exception of Brady.

Interesting point,, that makes sense.

This is also true. We're on the cusp.of seeing a lot of turnover of the "old" guys and into a new generation of QBs (which BB5 is a big part of).
Think about this (due to age/injury frequency):
AFC Playoff QBs this year
BRADY
Osweiler (Manning out)
McCarron (Dalton out)
Hoyer/Weeden (geez, lol)
Alex Smith
Fitzpatrick
Maybe Roethlisberger sneaks in over Fitzpatrick after this week, but Big Ben can't play a whole season any longer and is in his declining seasons too.
Brady shouldn't be around another 5 years.
Manning is done.
It's getting ready to change in a big way.
Id love the Clots to trot out Freeman at QB Sunday. I wanna see if he has anything left.
I didn't know the Colts knew how to pick up QBs from free agency. Oh, wait, that's right, they aren't trying to lose for the number 1 pick.
Bah dum tsss
What you did there....I see it.

You forgot 39-year old Peyton Manning.
Aaron Rodgers has struggled only because he and his receivers "are not on the same page" and he is missing Jordy Nelson. That has nothing to do with how old he is. And by the way he turned 32 December 2, exactly one month ago. So most of the season he was 31 - not too old for a quarterback.
Ben Roethlisberger is still playing at a high level when he is healthy. He simply can't stay healthy this season. Same for Tony Romo - he was good the first two weeks and at Miami.
Philip Rivers is still a good quarterback. His problem is injuries to a lot of teammates. He may be on the decline, but you can't chalk it up as just being old. There is more to it than that.
Why do you even mention Carson Palmer and Drew Brees? None of them have shown any signs of wear and tear this season. In fact Palmer is a leading MVP candidate. Brees has over 4,000 yards.

In addition to what you mentioned, it's literally a miracle that Matthew Stafford finished either game against the Vikings this season and was able to start in all 15 games w/o coming out of a game because of injury.
