Hi, Jaguars Nation!
Our 4-7 Jacksonville Jaguars are in Nashville to play the rematch with the 2-9 Tennessee Titans in today's 43rd meeting. Titans are the first AFC South opponent to play again within their division. Jaguars outscored the Titans 40-26, dating back to December 2014.
Jaguars won the earlier meeting this season, played on a rainy and overcast EverBank Field on Thursday Night Football, played on November 19. After the Titans took a 13-9 lead with a 23-yard touchdown run by rookie QB Marcus Mariota, and a Ryan Succop PAT, the Jaguars came back and scored the next 10 points in the fourth quarter, with a Blake Bortles 5-yard TD pass to Julius Thomas, and a Jason Myers PAT, and his 36-yard field goal, to secure the Jaguars 19-13 victory.
Tennessee Titans still leads the all-time series over Jacksonville 23 games to 19, and a rivalry that began when the Houston Oilers defeated the Jaguars, in Jacksonville's first ever regular season game in their first an inaugural season, losing 10-3 at then Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, back on September 3, 1995. Titans/Oilers has also outscored Jacksonville in the previous 42 games 842 points to 777.
