my mock drafts of the last 8 years only produced 5 all pro's ~
Maybe forum admins should add a non changeable area of signatures for people to post 5 picks in the first round they expect to be stars that shows on their profile for atleast 5 years. You could choose 1 player considered top 10 talent 2 players that are 11-21 talent and 2 players that are 22-32 Then 7 years later when they make a topic like this you could accurately call them on their BS
Also once again I finished my first post with "looks more like you went through the drafts and cherry picked to make yourself look good.
If not good job but i'm not a believer."

Thinking back on my previous posts and threads here are a few of the 1st round draft picks I thought the Jaguars were going to do... or wanted them to do.
2015 Draft
Leonard Williams DL, USC - I thought if both 1 & 2 take a QB that leaves the Jaguars with a guy whom can help out Marks or go to LE if needed I think he might become a better Odrick type of player, but Fowler was fine too (Who knew he would get injured)? My real #2 was Cooper though prior to the draft. I had Fowler at #3.
2014 Draft
We were all told that none of the QBs were good enough to go in the 1st round, so many didn't suspect a QB to be drafted with that in mind I was thinking the Jaguars were going to draft OLB Khalil Mack, but I was really hoping that Clowney wouldve fallen down to the Jaguars.
2013 Draft
I was really looking at Star Lotulelei as the DT that Marks turned out to be for the Jaguars but we didnt really know that then. I figured the draft wasn't really that great as many had kind of known prior to it occuring & found out later on they were correct. It made sense to me that the new GM would either go with a LT, QB, DT or pass rusher or maybe CB basically a premium position to build his franchise around but with so little talent present he went with Luke for a scheme.
2012 Draft
I was really hoping that the Jaguars were going to get Andrew Luck because the season was looking horrible but they couldnt even lose right and lost the chance to get him.
2011 Draft
Didnt we trade up in this one, because I kept thinking out of guys that might be there that Ryan Kerrigan was the best most likely guy for the Jaguars to draft at that time.
2010 Draft
This one really upset me because I watched the videos of JPP doing all those back flips and was so excited to see Jason Pierre-Paul still on the boards only for Gene to pick some guy nobody thought of as a 1st rounder or even 2nd rounder. Then to listen to the fluff as they tried to justify their stupidity.
so to recap the ones I wanted
2015 - Leo Williams (as a DT)
2014 - J. Clowney (as a Leo)
2013 - Star Lotulelei (as a DT - 3tech because I didnt know about Marks then)
2012- Andrew Luck (QB)
2011 - Ryan Kerrigan (RE,was before Gus)
2010 - Jason Pierre-Paul (RE)

Quote:Pick a person you wanted! First you said Mack, then it was Clowney, then Carr, but not really Carr because he was overrated like Blake???
First of all the post he put up there was wat I said in January. Yes I did say I admit blake and Carr I didn't like at #3. Second all those names was guys I was interested in, I wanted Clowney but I knew he would be gone before we picked at 3. Which is why in my mock draft I pick Khalil Mack.

I thought that too, the trade with redskins for Gabbert sabotaged that... and then Redskins pick in our spot who we should have picked.

I had one "draft class" that was actually good. 2012 according to my mock would have yielded Marvin Jones, Josh Norman, and Brandon Marshall. We still would have had Branch and Blackmon but you gotta take the good with the bad.

Nice. Speaking of Norman, he's a free agent this coming off season

Since we're talking past mocks. Anyone know how Weston Richburg the Center out of Colorado State has been playing? I know there were quite a few people here who wanted him

Adrian Amos is a guy I wanted last year at safety. Not putting up big stats but he's playing great for the Bears secondary.
I recall a good few posters said he would bust because no good DBs come from Penn State.

I still think this is a good idea
I'm not being butt hurt, but it does have to be acknowledged that MANY MANY MANY people play the "I would have picked ______ and now he is an all pro" card, when really those people wanted to pick players like Chase Daniel and Nathan Enderle. Maybe as an example I'll start putting my projected season stats for the team in my signature and keep a pre-draft evaluation of people in a draft class I think will be great in the future.

Reggie nelson, Michael Floyd are not all pros, and Clady is constantly hurt. I make mock drafts every year. If in march I wanna know see my mock draft I'll post it. I have nothing to prove to yall to lie. Beside there are other picks that could been much better for the team than the ones I made

This inspired me to dig up my old draft notes. Interesting...
2007
Jaguars pick: FS Reggie Nelson
My pick: LT Joe Slaley
I could tell Khalif was not the longterm answer.
2008
Jaguars pick: DE Derrick Harvey
My Pick: WR Jordy Nelson
Not wanting to lose picks in a trade, I stay put at #26 and take the much needed WR
2009
Jaguars Pick: Eugene Monroe
My pick: FS Malcolm Jenkins
It was time to shore up the S position
2010
Jaguars Pick: DT Tyson Alualu
My pick: DE Jason PIerre-Paul
Gotta have that pass rush; couldn't have known he'd ond day lose a finger
2011
Jaguars pick: QB Blaine Gabbert
My pick: DE Ryan Kerrigan
Again not looking to lose picks, I stay put and take Kerrigan to pair with JPP for a fierce pass rush
2012
Jaguars pick: WR Justin Blackmon
My pick: MLB Luke Kuechly
Defense starting to really look good
2013
Jaguars pick: LT Luke Joeckel
My pick: RT Lane Johnson
Time to shore up the right side
2014
Jaguars Pick: QB Blake Bortles
My pick: QB Blake Bortles
I thought he'd go first overall and was delighted when he fell.
2015
Jaguars Pick: Dante Fowler
My pick: Amari Cooper
With JPP and Kerrigan in place, I need a WR to pair with Jordy Nelson
So to recap, I'm left with QB Blake Bortles, LT Joe Staley, RT Lane Johnson, WRs Jordy Nelson and Amari Cooper, DEs JPP and Kerrigan, MLB Kuechly and FS Malcolm Jenkins. Yep... GM material right here.

Derrick Harvey had a lot of fans thinking he was going to be good and sad that he was a bust. It also has a lot of fans fearful that Fowler might be another Harvey.

2007-2013 are an example of how to not draft in the first round. 2 (or 3) of them aren't in the NFL anymore. Only 2 are left on the active roste: one of which has played like a late rounder, the other has played like a mid-rounder at best.
Monroe and Nelson are decent players who have at least stayed in the NFL for years. Neither is or ever will be elite though.
