Quote:Whos fault is it that we haven't beat them. Our Offense has been terrible for a long time now. You have to score more than the other team. Just saying.

The Jags are 22 in points scored, 29th in points allowed. Both need to be improved, but the defense has been worse.

Quote:Boy do I hate this defense. Bend but don't break, no pressure, let QB dink, dunk and do whatever they want with us.

Bend but don't break might work against the EJ Manuels of the NFL or rookies like Mariota but when faced against a top tier QB we really have no chance. Seriously when was the last time we've beat an elite QB? 5 years ago? When's the last time we beat one of these guys:

Brady

Manning

Rivers

Roethlisberger

Rodgers

If you can't beat these guys your never going really matter in the NFL

Jack Del Rio was good at it.  He shut out big ben on Monday Night Football.  He had Peyton Mannings number on many occasions, and Coughlin was of course greatest HC the Jaguars ever had on both sides of the ball.

Mularkey was a weird signing, because they fired JDR for him... still scratching my head on that one... and then GM Dave Caldwell said he was going to take the team in a different direction and fired Mularkey after one year with less than 4 wins, only to hire and keep Gus who has failed to pass 4 wins in 3 years... so ... whats really going on there?

The Jags will not (consistently) beat a good or elite QB until they can rush the passer well.  A decent QB carves up the Jags today.

This is true and i hope to see more additions in the offseason than relying on Fowler.  There's a lot of complaining about the secondary but to me, it's all about the pass rush.  Let's put some heat on these QBs, then worry about the secondary.  They'd look entirely different with an adequate rush.

That's the problem.... this team makes elite QB's out of yesterdays garbage.

The question is specifically about elite quarterbacks, not guys who look better against us than other teams.
ELIIIII

When was the last time we beat Eli?

This just can't be a real question, just can't.

Of course it is. I don't remember the Jaguars ever beating Eli Manning as another poster implied. Chances are we never did.

No way, I just don't believe you.

There is no way that you can be a real true Jaguar fan and not remember the Jags making Jaguar history and beating Eli and the NY Giants. It's just not possible.

Say it isn't so.

I asked WHEN we beat Eli, not if.

Is your memory really that bad that you can't remember the greatest comeback in Jaguar history.

I mean REALLY???

Last season.

The Jags were down big. And then they started returning turnovers for TDs and won the game.

Immediately afterwards, Giants fans on their message boards were in a complete uproar because they lost to the Jags. It was pure Gold, Lol!

Actually many people have told me I have a good memory. Unfortunately that Giants game was not televised here, so there is nothing to remember except the fact we played at home on November 30.

Do you always believe what people tell you?

Did you see or are you aware of the results of that game?

Did you look at the stats and the boxscore from that game?

Do you know which team won and which team lost that game?

Do you know which two QBs started that game?

Do you know which QB was on the winning team and which QB was on the losing team?

I'll bet if I go back on this MB I will find something from you in one of the threads about that very game.
Drop it. I don't need to be insulted over forgetting what I never saw happen.

Quote:Brady is 5-0 against the Jags.

Peyton was 15-5 against the Jags. Jags won last on Oct 3, 2010. Prior to that was Sept 21, 2008 (Road).

River is 5-1 against the Jags. Jags won on Nov 18, 2007.

Roethlisberger is 4-2 against the Jags. Jags won on Dec 16, 2007 (Road) and Jan 5, 2008 (Road)

Brees is 2-0 against the Jags.

Romo is 1-0 against the Jags.

Rodgers is 1-1 against the Jags. Jags won on Dec 14, 2008.

Matt Ryan is 1-0 against the Jags.

Matt Hasselbeck is 3-2 against the Jags as a starter. Jags beat him when he played for Tennessee on Sept. 11, 2011 and with Seattle on Sept. 11, 2005. Yeah... Freaky.
Big Ben is 4-3 (remember the MNF game)?, and Brees is 2-1 (lost to the Jags in 2003 when he was a charger). The only name on that list that bothers me the most is Brady.
