I have to question the intelligence of some of the people here.
Lol this was perfect. Shows exactly why Gabs isn't here anymore. That 50% passing with 1 TD and 5.44 YPA looks like classic Gabbert to me. Now I did watch the 44 yard run, and that beautiful pass to win. I am thinking that even on that on the long passes he connected here, they never looked that good. Hes clearly improved. But Blake will whipe the floor with him as a QB.
Happy for Gabs, but Bortles is much better.

100% this. I'm actually really happy that Gabbert has been doing well and getting some wins. Perfect context for him as no one could look worse than Kaep, and he's done solidly. He really didn't deserve to be a running joke for the rest of his life, so I'm happy the tune is changing nationally.

I wasn't quite sure if it was him since he didn't hurdle anyone on the play.
Everyone loved to hate on Gabbert, the truth is the guy had/has talent but we did (the genius Gene Smith) nothing to help him, he had no WRs, we changed his OC every freaking year... pretty sure we also had problems with O-line and RB's and of course a clown playing TE.

It seems like he has worked out his legs a lot since he's been gone.
When he was here his legs just couldn't support him and a lot of the time he found himself on the ground when the play ended.

Wow. The new Gabbert.
Like a lot of people commented in his time here, the guy had all the tools. He just wasn't ready, and shouldn't have been thrown to the fire. He looks to be more comfortable now with everything that's going on around him. Good for him. Never had a problem with Blaine while he was here.

And 71 yards came on the game winning TD pass in overtime. So prior to that anomaly he was 17/31 for 125... Eww.

He was doomed from the start here because of the way Del Rio just threw him into the fire. Given adequate time to develop as an NFL QB, he had the physical tools to be at least an average player. He was such a young guy coming into the league to begin with, and he needed that time to mature as a player. I'm happy to see him at least getting an opportunity to prove the message board GMs here wrong. It was a good decision by this franchise to move on. Drafting a project like that who really did need a year or two to season as a QB wasn't the right call for this franchise. Hopefully he finds a spot to land and enjoy a decent career. Maybe he already has. We'll see.
