Yeah bro being from hawaii and getting to meet and have a convo with him at a HS football camp right before his rookie season, I really wanted Owens to succeed but those 4 muff punts/ kick returns in the pre season was jus terrible, along with looking much to weak even against small corners was jus bad.
Fun act about Chad Owens tho, he won multiple MVP awards in the CFL and has been recognized as one of the best players there for years till today.
Does RJ Soward get a mention?

He sucked, but I think we're talking post Keenan and jimmy, pre allen show.

Well he was drafted right in the middle of that era. Keenan had one last good season here after Soward was drafted.

Wish Coughlin had got Laveranues Coles instead of RJ. I remember reading that Coles would've loved to have been drafted here. Oh well.

I was just reading an interview with RJ, he said looking back he wanted to go in round 2 to the rumoured Saints. He believes the first round attention derailed his career. He is currently employed as a TV repairman.
There was only one Charles Sharon, let's not multiply him.
Quote:I'll never forget Vic Ketchman saying Gene Smith "fixed" the WR position by drafting Mike Thomas (4th), Jarrett Dillard (5th) and Tiquan Underwood (7th) in 2009.
I liked Vic, but that was a bad call.
Well, wide receivers are a dime a dozen, after all.
Quote:Matt Jones was fun to watch. Imagine if he actually cared. Reggie Williams wasn't too bad in retrospect. The dude could block, LOL.
I was going to post about his blocking abilities. He once completely destroyed a Raiders DE. Maybe he should have been a TE?
Thing I love about the Allen bros is how humble they are and their toughness. Both guys take some big hits, A rob stays healthy and Hurns has played through several injuries that most recievers wouldnt.
Quote:We can't forget Vic's favorite, Chad Owens. The next Steve Smith lol
I agree!
(Old poster reference, see if anybody remembers.)

I guess I should have read the entire thread before posting this.
I love Vic Ketchman ... but man was he WRONG about wide receivers being a "dime a dozen."
Laurent Robinson is another, although he dealt with concussion issues, if I remember correctly.
Quote:John Broussard was the man on that one catch....
Ha... I remember that. It was the first game of the season I think. He made a great diving catch for like a 50 yard touchdown. That's all he ever did though. A one catch wonder.
Quote:Well, wide receivers are a dime a dozen, after all.
And we have had dozens of them who weren't even worth a dime.
Finally that has changed, it was a long time coming.
Quote:Of all of them Blackmon had the best shot
Must've been.

R.J. Soward is a TV repairman? Good grief, who repairs those these days? I thought they were disposable.

A coworker and I were discussing this the other day. We were surprised that there were still TV repairmen in town as it seems that people just buy new when their TV dies.
