Quote:Ah yes, another moral victory for the SEC.
Your pointing out records of ACC vs SEC. No moral victory whatsoever. Just adding to what you posted, or left out.
I will also add, if the conference thing isn't a big deal, and even frowned upon by so many on here over the years, including you, why would any of this matter to you?

Good question!
Quote:ACC ACC ACC ACC!
But only in a ironic way, of course.
I'd say this is the 1st year that one could make an argument for any of the Big 5 Conferences.
It gets really interesting when you look at the Top 3 teams from each conference:
Bama
Florida
Ole Miss
Iowa
Mich State
OSU
Clemson
UNC
FSU
Oklahoma
Baylor
TCU
Stanford
USC
Oregon (back on track)
Quote:ACC > SEC period! Whooped that tail all day. 3-1 yesterday. Go noles!
Yes ACC dominated SEC during rivalry week this year. Yes, last year ACC was undefeated against the SEC during rivalry week. However, we must always differentiate when we are talking about the SEC. The East is not the West. The East is the WORST division in the Power 5 by any statistic, measure, or ranking. The ACC's winning record against the SEC does not mean much when you consider its against the East, not the West. EVERY division could have a head to head with the East and walk out with a winning record. The East is truly that bad. I would take the SEC West, ACC Atlantic, B1G East, B1G West, Pac-12 South, ACC Coastal, Pac-12 North, anddddddd maybe even the AAC West over the SEC East any day.
Let's look at the current East's record against OOC Power 5:
Florida 0-1
Georgia 1-0
Tennessee 0-1
Vanderbilt 0-0
Kentucky 0-1
Missouri 0-0
South Carolina 1-1
So that's 2-3 against the ACC and 0-1 against the Big 12. If you want to count Independents, they are 0-1.

If I were to rank them based on the top 3 above it would be as follows:
Big 10
ACC
Big 12
SEC
PAC-12

Its not about it nattering to ACC teams, it's about the national perspective and how off base it is. We , being anyone cheering for a team not in the SEC, just want rankings to be fair and based on who the best teams are, not what conference they play in. As you can see the SEC has not lived up to their biased rankings again this year. The SEC is just another conference with a couple very good teams and the rest average as the days are long. This isn't a knock on them, this is how the rest of the conferences are as well. It's time to open our eyes and look past the SEC patches and see these teams for who they are, not who we think they are. Go Noles baby.

It matters, and it shows. If it didn't, there'd be no need to post what other schools in a certain conference did against another conference. We've been brow beatn The rankings have shaken out, it typically does. There are three SEC schools in the top 25, and on top of that only 1 in the top 5, 1 in the top 20. The national media sees it.
We established in this thread early that pollsters are mostly clueless. They rank based on previous season. These guys, as much as they'd like to think they know, don't know about who really graduated, who will make an impact this season, freshman impact, etc., etc. I don't think I can blame those voting in the preseason polls for giving a benefit of the doubt to some of the SEC schools, but as I stated earlier, it still all shook out. Heck, look at the preseason rankings, even the coaches poll even closely resembled the media's. You can't argue that the SEC had a run of dominance, absolute dominance that played out in many forms.
No need to answer for other posters, though I appreciate it.

While the East was pretty pathetic this year due to terrible QB play (and injuries, suspension), I'd have to say the West was lacking dominance this year as well. MSU, LSU, and Tex A&M were all disappointments this season.

Yes overall a down year for that division for sure, Alabama only good team in SEC this year.

While I agree for the most part, the SEC still went 4-3 against the ACC this year.
SEC should just shut down operations. Can't compete with other mighty conferences. Its over guys.
