Quote:Yes, the opulence around here is jaw dropping.

Quote:I had to zoom in to see that it was a tablecloth, because I was just getting ready to ask you why your food was on some shag carpet!!

Why have chairs when you can eat on the floor?
Had fried turkey for the first time, don't think I can eat it any other way.

You must be one of those rich folk with indoor bathrooms!

'MURICA!!!

Don't knock it until you've tried it, Euro. Deep fried turkey is amazing, and, when fried properly, no more fat that any other cooking process.
I was introduced to fried turkey about 12 years ago and I've never wasted another in the oven again. On the Monday before Thanksgiving, I rub and inject my turkey (mood music and wine helps) with creole seasoning and marinade. On the big day, it's slowly submerged in 350 degree oil and cooked for 3 1/2 minutes per pound.  The result is a hideous looking creation of juicy, succulent, flavorful meat surrounded by crispy spicy skin that requires me to continuously smack eager fingers away before it's carved.

'murica...indeed.

Once you've had fried turkey, you never wanna bird from the oven again!!

Only until the tryptophan kicks in.
Used to do Fried Turkey as my Dad discovered this about 20 years ago. Once Mom figured out that the Turkey got cooked and Dad was out of the kitchen all morning (he made quite the production out of it) that was the only way to do it. Then I discovered cooking the turkey in the smoker. Yeah, ain't never goin' back now.

Smoker or fried is the way to go. When I'm cooking it, it's smoked. Then again, I don't have the frying apparatus...so that might have something to do with it.
