OK so we're coming to Florida for our Honeymoon next September. Obviously we want to come to a Jags game whilst we are there, providing the schedule allows. How much do tickets range from? Is there a tour around the stadium you can do? (I'm assuming not on game days) and also, do you know whether tickets can be shipped to the UK or whether they can be reserved and picked up on the day itself? Thanks :-)

Tickets start at $40 and go as high as $300 if I'm not mistaken. You can get good endzone seats (Sec 123) for around $70. When I went last December I bought my ticket at the stadium, the Saturday before the game. With Ticketmaster you can print them at home but don't use that, you'll be extra for the fees. You can also arrange to pick them up on the day itself but I have no idea how that works. I don't think there are stadium tours but can always email the ticket office and ask.

Since you're on your honeymoon here's a few extra tips: Fly in on Friday, buy tickets on Saturday, game on Sunday, leave to do the rest of your honeymoon on Monday. Stay near the beaches, downtown Jacksonville isn't much fun. If you want to buy merchandise, do so at the Avenues mall. If you get carded buying alcohol, use your drivers license instead of your passport, guaranteed odd reactions.

Thanks for this. We're actually flying in on a Monday, so hopefully there will be a game on the Thursday or Sunday/Monday that we can go to. We fly back the following Thursday night. We aren't really the kinda couple to lounge on the beach or by the pool, but we have a few things that we wanna do written down, so hopefully we can check some off the list. Would be great to bump into some Jags fans who we interact with on here and on Twitter. Like I say, it's not your 'normal' idea of a honeymoon, but perfect for us!
Congrats on your marriage.  What other things are you guys planning on doing in Florida?

Thank you very much!

We're hoping to go to St Pete (we've been before and loved it), obviously Universal & Disney. My best man lives in Florida and will also get us tickets to see Orlando City SC, some shopping and probably something like the Kennedy Space Centre, and as much else as we can fit in.

That sounds like a great trip.  I love St. Pete too.  My wife and I enjoyed the Salvador Dali museum there.  When we were there they actually had "The Persistence of Memory" on loan from the MOMA is New York.  Was really neat to see in person.

Wow yeah that sounds like something we'd enjoy too. We were at Treasure Island for my best friends wedding. It really was beautiful!

Now it's our turn to get married and his turn to travel 5,000 miles for best man duties :-)

If you were doing all that here's how I would plan it:

Monday: fly in to Orlando & rest.

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: three day pass to the parks in Orlando.

Friday & Saturday; depending on which day Orlando SC plays its game use that day to go shopping etc. Use the other day for the Space Center. In the evening of Saturday drive up to Jacksonville, it's about 2,5 hours, not that long.

Sunday: Jaguars gameday.

Monday: Look around Jacksonville and in the evening drive down to St. Pete.

Tuesday & Wednesday: St. Pete.

Thursday: Fly back.

That doesn't sound like a bad idea... It certainly gives us an isea on timings at least. Thanks!
That's a lot of travelling around in a single week. If you can arrange your trip around a Thursday night game I would recommend that since it is a bigger event than a regular Sunday and much more entertainment around the stadium prior to the game.

If you go to the theme parks in Orlando your friend can buy passes at a Florida resident discount and get like 3 days for the price of 2. Personally, 2 days is about all I can do, but for others 3 may not be too much.

My best advice, pack 1/2 the clothes and twice the money!

Ha thanks, like I say I have been to Florida several times, the travel doesn't bother us quite so much, it's actually something we look forward to. The trip is actually booked so I'm just hoping the schedule is good to us!

We also have our park tickets in advance as part of our deal. Thanks for your input though :-)
There's nothing more scenic and picturesque than driving through central Florida.

Ok, I'm trolling.

I-10 between Jacksonville and Tallahassee is a close second though.

Never been west of Tally I take it.

I haven't but two friends of mine drove from Jacksonville to New Orleans and they described it as nothing but trees interrupted by the occasional billboard for either a casino, a strip club, or Jesus Saves.

For what?  Pine trees?  Scenic is A1A and no time timetable.

DarloJag84, since you have been here several times I assume you know about the benefits of staying on property at Universal, but just in case you don't if you do stay at one of the Universal properties your room key allows you to bypass the lines.  Granted the cost of staying on site is significantly more than off but IMO the benefits far outweigh the cost.  I really enjoy hitting City Walk for the concerts and the party atmosphere with the added bonus of not having to drive to get back to your hotel.

We're being sarcastic CC. And I've driven A1A between St. Augustine and Jacksonville Beach, it's not that great.

Dang!  I have been whooshed again.

As for the A1A drive, I really enjoy it.  Even better IMO though is from Mayport via the ferry to Fernandina Beach.

And for Dr. Doug Stein who performs non surgical vasectomies...out of the back of a van, I believe, because he has those billboards everywhere!!!
Since it's your honeymoon, you really should do a nights stay at a B&B in st. augustine. If you want something pretty to look at and lots of cool history, that's a great destination. It's also smack dab between Orlando and Jax, so on the way!
