I think it's odd as well that Blake has zero rushing TD's only due to his mobility. I always think of the play that Dough Flutie got us with forever ago where he faked the pitch to the right and ran left for the score.

LOL!  Heard that line on the radio this morning.  Smile
Quote:Allen Robinson and Julius Thomas are two red zone nightmares for opposing defenses...and we ran it 3 times in a row from inside the 5 yard line. I hate to point out any negatives after a win, but this one is so obvious!!
I can't figure it out.

That's no coincidence. Wink

I think Olson has to be more creative. A few weeks ago (not sure which game exactly) the offense was around the goal line and the play selection was three straight fades, unsuccessfully of course. There has to be other ways to score.
Quote:3 times in a row with our 200 pound spell back. I don't get it.

He runs the hardest out of all of them. If Yeldon starts running like that he'll be a top 5 back and get goal line carries.
Quote:Gus is trying to toughen up our O-line, running, pounding the ball at the 10 yard line and closer.  Gotta be mean and physical at the LOS like Seattle.
The place to 'toughen up' the o-line is not during a real game!!! That not withstanding, by now the coaches have got to know what these guys can and can't do... and down and dirty goal line run blocking isn't one of our o-lines strengths, as evidenced in an earlier game with Gerhart. Three running plays up the middle in a row when you know it didn't work before??? Will someone please tell Olson to stop trying to run plays that we now know beyond a shadow of doubt that don't work for us?!

What if I told you those plays still had the best chance to succeed?
More like the dead zone
Our red zone offense sucks. Let's have Bortles run read-option and run play-action. Just stop running up the middle!

Why don't they simply do a screen pass to Shoelace instead of handing it off to him, or let TJ Yeldon get it?  I enjoy watching Blake throw to Hurns they should do more of that in the Redzone...

Ummmm, have you watched him try to "catch" the ball?
Forget the fade until Blake learns to throw a good one, and for that matter don't even put a RB out there. Line up Julius, ARob, Hurns, Walters, and Marcedes, and let Blake find the open guy.

In reality, blake is struggling throwing the fade, and our running game isnt dominant enough to knock guys off the ball with the whole defense in a 5 yard box. Thats 80% of the problem.

From olson, 3 straight gand offs to denard is just stupid. Hed have a much greater chance of scoring on an angle route from shotgun. Every time allen robinson is 1 on 1 in the red area especially inside the ten it should be a check with blake and throw whatever route they want.

Look at the pats. Edleman or gronk get their looks every time. I think Thomas is getting into the flow and he should help. We have too many options on offense for this to be a problem.

Play action? Designed roll outs? Wildcat with Denard? Like you said, we have so many weapons including a mobile QB. There's far too many playmakers in this offense to settle on 50/50 fades or straight up the gut runs

I literally laughed out loud at that one.    Nice job!
That 5 yard TD pass to Julius should be available in a lot of scenarios. Ride that until opponents over-focus on him; then take advantage of other 1 on 1 matchups. ARob and his jump ball skills should be another huge matchup advantage.

Point is, there's a lot of red-zone advantages in the pass game. The odd running play is fine, but 3 in a row is inexcusable going forward.

They don't have faith in Bortles ability to throw the jump ball in the red zone yet. His accuracy on 'touch' throws is horrendous.

It will get better and the empty set they used Thursday will likely be employed more often as well. Olson/Bradley have been mixing in some different things, they just would REALLY love to have a power run game inside the 10.

Probably gonna have to wait till next year on that.
I got it...

When we get inside the five, bring in Henne.
