<p class="">Perine put on a clinic during blocking drills. And now Mixon near flawless catching the ball. Makes it look incredibly easy.

Maybe he will go in the 1st and it'll push McCaffrey to our pick. I doubt it though.
My boy Perine

It's going to be interesting to see where he goes. If he is there when we pick in the second I'd sprint to the podium to take him.
Quote:That offense is getting an overhaul regardless.  I think that 73% shotgun number goes down considerably under Hackett/Marrone.

Doesn't change my stance on Mixon.  He's a good pick at #35 if free agency helps our secondary.

He's an absolute steal if he's there in the third - but he won't be IMO.
73% was only barely higher than league avearge, to be fair. It's just a shotgun league now, like it's a base nickel defense league.

I agree it might go down some, especially if we bring in a fullback, but Blake has been a shotgun QB his whole career...even back in college. It would be kinda scary to expect him to make the giant leaps forward he needs while also transitioning to more of an under center offense.

Just reading what I have about the offense these guys ran at Syracuse and Buffalo, my gut tells me it will go down 15%.

Who knows?

It's going to be a very different playbook regardless of shotgun percentage.  Especially the run game. Hackett immediately abandoned some of Olson's more frequently called run plays when he took over - so I'd look at that as some indication of upcoming change.
