Quote:Bradley's mindset reminds me of something that I heard a, of all things, Little League football coach say once: "If you set your goals wrong, they'll eventually become limits. You don't ever want your focus to be a number, because what happens once you hit that number? Do you stop being a football player? Do you stop being a team?" I take that as set your goals on a more existential basis so that you build a solid idea of the work that it takes to succeed, period.

Bradley seems to have that in his head. He doesn't put his focus on long term goals, rather he wants the players to think about what they are doing right now and how they need to use their effort towards improvement. I dig that. I just hope that he starts seeing more success on the scoreboard.

Bradley's mindset also Reminds me of a quote I heard from one of the most successful managers/coaches ever across any sport, Sir Alex Ferguson 'Show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser.' I'm sorry but I read that article and saw marcedes saying 'it's not just about winning or losing' that's exactly what it's about there doesn't seem to be that winners mentality as a team that's why I don't think GB will be successful.
Winning will take care of itself. I am one of those who believe that the state Jaguars have been in has required a coach of Bradley`s philosophy.

The gratification will be delayed but that much sweeter.

Nah man....

If you look at it without being so negative

If you take care of your job right now, you will win.

The winning comes with doing your job and getting better.

If all you're focused on is winning, when it doesn't happen, you lose hope, and give a damn.

You have to keep in mind the state of the franchises over the recent years. NE has had a stable FO and owner for over a decade.

We had a dumpster fire that Caldwell poured gas onto in order to burn it out faster and has been rebuilding a house on the ashes. A coach with Bradley's demeanor was essential to keeping the team together the past 3 years. Now is when we can finally judge on if that mentality can achieve success outside of a positive locker room.
Quote:And to further cement what the article, to me it seems that were getting a whole lot more media exposure than we have had in recent years. You don't get that if there's not anything g to write about. There's something brewing here for sure.

Now to get someone to make a Gus Bradley milkshake meme......

Where are all the people now saying how we just need a have fun and keep trying culture? There's no killer instinct and that comes from not a pure desire to win.

I don't know. Lord I hope professional people in charge of an NFL franchise don't have the mentality of either of us.

They are in a different situation, and have been for awhile. Can't even compare the reigning SB champs with our franchise....silly.

Hmmm...

I'll look into that.
