Quote:If the pass attempt is long enough for a first down, Waters does not need to run after the catch. But I would love to see more YAC from our new star receiver, of course.

They don't rank up there with more famous names because this is their first season together. We picked up Walters after putting Greene on injured reserve IIRC. With time they will become household names.

I agree that at least Walters knows where that first down marker is and consistently gets deep enough to convert.

As for Antonio Brown and Julio Jones, this grading system is not a popularity contests. Those two have earned their amazingly high grades this season.

they each have over 1000 yrds half way into the season. Crazy
Quote:He is a winner. Wait....where have we heard that before?
Tebow>Teddy
I'm gonna get flamed....

But Walters is that guy that makes 5 foot puts all day...(85% catch rate)

Hurns and ARob can make 30 footers...in football terms

Its important to be able to consistently make 5 putts too.

Absolutely, and even more important to have a combination of the sure fire 5 footers and the occasional 30 footer!
Quote:QB Blake Bortles career stats

2014 475 att, 280comp, 58.9%, 2,908 yards, 6.1avg, 11TD, 17INT, 37 20+, 6 40+, (Sack 55), 69.5 Rate

2015 311 att, 175comp, 56.3%, 2,193 yards, 7.1avg, 17TD, 10INT, 39 20+, 6 40+, (sack 25), 83.2 Rate

If you look above at the stats notice how he is only 715 yards short of last year's total yards thrown, and he has already thrown six more Touchdowns this season than all of last years! He has 2 more 20+ yard passes already, and the same amt of 40+ as last year... he hasn't been sacked nearly as often & his Rating is way higher this year due to it.... He needs better protection from the Oline & for TJ Yeldon to be more productive so that teams have to stack the box instead of dropping back...

The team is starting to get noticed for its passing threat in the media, heck even in Madden 16...

Way too many sacks to only be 8 games into the season, but his stats are exactly what you want to see in a QB's first year to their second. There's steady progress in all categories (except comp %, needs to do a little better there) and he's still young and ascending. He should best all these stats next year as he continues to progress.
You know what i notice is that it seems to me that the allens love playing for blake if anyone disagree please tell me.

I wouldn't be concerned about his completion percentage because he still is working on his mechanics and he don't throw checkdowns and short passes. In blake's world his philosophy is to go deep or go home.

"catching 24 of his 28 targets (85.7 percent, tied NO.1 in the NFL) with zero drops."

Outstanding! Keep that guy on the field in possession/chain-moving situations. He should be an option on EVERY 3rd and 3 or longer.
Every play is chain moving situations. I hate seeing 3rd down.

Yes,, technically every down is a chain moving situation. I don't like being in 3rd downs either. But,, I'm quite positive there ARE going to be 3rd downs. And I'm quite positive that I'd prefer to see Walters as an option (#3 along with the Allens) on every 3rd down possible. If the Allens aren't open or something,, check it to Walters. Most likely, he's going to catch it and move the chains.

The sacks are a bit high, but a large part of that is how long he's able to hang in the pocket in order to allow the deeper plays to happen. It's actually impressive because he's great at moving around in the pocket and escaping pressure, but if you time him he hangs in there way longer than most qbs. It's a gift and a curse, but he's darn tough and takes it. And long as he's not getting injured I'm liking what I see. He's got exceptional downfield vision and the arm to get it out there along with an ability to buy extra seconds.
