Quote:We still have a shot at the AFC South Championship.
Hah. No. Indy or Houston, that is it.
I think it is absolutely incredible this team is not 5-2 right now. I don't really know who exactly to blame when its 'built' but the simple fact we have been so lucky outside of Carolina and New England(Playing poor teams, plus their injuries) anbd are 2 and [BLEEP] 6. Just goes to show this team isn't nearly as good as expected. The offense has pieces, but the rest of the team is not so great.

So is Indy following the Redskins lead in getting their star QB killed?

The horrible thing is, we will not be able to jump on this opportunity to take the AFC South.  As sickening as it is to say, I think the Titans under Mularkey are going to take advantage of this one.

Oh please no, if that happens my head might explode.

Their next six games they play the Jags twice. The other four games are against Carolina, New England, Oakland and the Jets. Not sure I see many wins there.
Let's not forget that Hasselbeck (sp?) beat the tin horns and us when Luck was out earlier this season.

The clots are still the best team in the division, in my opinion.

The whole "ribs injury" and how that narrative got completely forgotten to me is like a total X-Files type mystery...  But whatever...  A lacerated kidney sounds pretty bad.  I saw one hit he took in that Denver game where one of the D-Linemen of the Broncos landed on him will all his wieght...  I'm pretty sure this injury is legit, unlike the phantom rib injury.

Hasselbeck might be the best thing for the clots to win the AFCS

Quote:But Andrew Luck is a QB and his health is secondary to them winning some games.

Nonsense. He missed two games earlier this year. Also, wide receivers are pretty important too and get hit all day if they do their jobs.

Quote:Wow.  From what I understand, that is a serious injury.  His season might be over.

From the description, it looks like Andrew Suck should be headed to IR. I would like to know why the Colts said 2-6 weeks.

Of course, six weeks would be the end of the regular season, so even with that prognosis he could be done for the year.
I knew Denver won that game. Definitely hit him hard, just he was a split second faster getting rid of the ball
I feel bad for Luck. No one should have to go through something like that.

And I have to say, Luck's health issues are what have held him back this year, not his ability. I don't think he's the second coming of Peyton Manning, but he's a good QB.

What are you talking about? Denver lost that game.
But that hit. And sheesh..Hasselbeck hates throwing to Donte Moncrief. .who has been a solid waiver wire pickup flex for me. I'm honestly not going to be suprised if Irsay comes out to say Luck will play in 2 weeks.

Chuck Pagano is the one who would announce it.

I am sure Hasselbeck threw to Montcrief in both games.
Quote:also has partial tear of ab muscle

Lacerated kidneys or other organs are common complications from rib fractures. Most likely the rib fracture he had earlier this year had not entire set/healed and became "displaced." If anything, that may be part of why he sat out two weeks, because it was displaced, whereas some players play through rib fractures. Now it could be totally separate from the rib, but they often occur in sequence.

Now lacerated kidneys can be life threatening injuries. The kidneys are the sewage treatment plant of the body, so they have high blood flow. If the laceration is bad, you can bleed out in hours. The fact that he lasted nearly 24 hours before most of his symptoms presented, and they were "subtle" as the team is stating, likely indicates that this it was small, somewhat contained, and/or was starting to clot on it's own.

(Allen's was diagnosed fairly quickly after the game, so it was likely a higher grade laceration.)

With a small laceration, you have to make sure it does not get worse mainly. It should heal fairly quickly and there is low risk of short-term or long-term kidney dysfunction. Management is pretty conservative. If it is also due to the rib fracture, they are likely not taking any more chances with it, and want it fully heal.

The Ab muscle injury and his conditioning are actually much more important Football wise. Depending on what ab muscle and how bad the tear is, that could be significant pain and strength with breathing, running, twisting, and throwing. While he will not be cleared to practice til they are certain for the kidney, the abdominal muscle will like be the bigger issue when it comes to returning to play and his effectiveness on the field. Even when he gets back, it may sap some of his ability to scramble and follow through/step through on his throws.

You're unaware of how things are going in Indy.
Quote:Also Bortles cost us this past game.

Bortles also put us in position to win them.
Quote:Reading this is very sad to me. If we can win division this year, when will we.

Next year?

Until/unless there is punishment handed down to the clots, there is no rib injury.
I once had a lacerated kidney and was unable to return to the NFL. Not a good injury.

How does one lacerate a kidney? Is this technically Irsay's fault for not getting him help? Maybe because Luck was responsible for Wayne's torn ACL with an inaccurate throw, Reggie did it while he was sleeping. Who knows?
