The pass rush situation is an unfortunate reality we will be dealing with the rest of the season, and yes, Rivers can certainly move the ball at will with no pressure. That could be said of any QB though.

Quote:That Adam Gase offense is entirely unimpressive.
I'm glad we dodged that bullet.
Adam gase has made that offense look a lot better actually. They have been without most of their offensive weapons all year.
we'll lose by 12 points

Shocking opinion from the troll.
Remember last year these threads were a joke every week no matter who we played.

A big part of it is Jay Cutler. He is much better with Adam Gase than previous offensive coordinators.

Jeremy Langford played well as Matt Forte's replacement.

Ok well that is a sign of a good OC isn't it? It's not so magical thing that cutler is playing better than ever after all these years in the league.

Yep, it sure is. But Jay Cutler's best season was in Denver, not Chicago.
Quote:But, but, but - it's the offensive coordinator! It's always the offensive coordinator!

Quote:Injuries or not, they can get by just like any other team. They still have rivers, but they are just not drawing up winning game plans. Teams know to just sit back and play the pass and that's when turnovers start piling up.

A case probably can be made that the Chargers should have run the ball more,  based on their injury situation at WR and to a lesser of an extent at TE.

Overall though,  the team the Chargers fielded in the 2nd half of last night's game against the Bears was a shell of the team their team brass hoped would be on the field when they put the team together.   The Chargers were missing 3 starters on the Offensive Line,  their top 2 WRs,  their # 2 TE,  their top Defensive Lineman  ( their best Defensive player  ),  a starting ILB,   and a starting CB  ( probably their best CB ) who earlier in the game ran back an interception for a TD.    Even w/o the distraction of ownership looking to move the team to the Los Angeles area and combined with crowd noise the visiting fans bring to San Diego,   Mike McCoy and his staff have a very difficult task because of their injuries.
We've stood a chance against most teams this year.....and well....because you know.

I hope every game that  the team gets mad enough to take the WIN. But they don't.

They bugger it up.

After the bye, the first opportunity was the jets.... but we let it slip away.

Ask me why I'm getting pessimistic?

Because we still have players that don't expect to win....they just think the wins will come because that's what they've been told.

I'll be there for the remainder home games, yelling and trying to cheer them on.

But I no longer expect anything,.... why should I? If they don't.
Mowerguy, coaches and players expect to win every week. There is no reason to believe otherwise. Why would the team lack confidence in its ability to win games? That mentality is part of being a football coach or player.

Man, thats terrible news.

I stand absolutely corrected and am appalled at my oversight! Thank you Geen.
Add Malcolm Floyd to the list of primary weapons they'll be without. Torn labrum and out for the season. This is truly getting comical now. We're being handed everything on a platter and refuse to take it lol

update: pardon me, they're now saying he will attempt to rehab and play through it. That's kinda crazy to me so not sure how that will work, but the point remains

The Chargers should have put him on IR. Everyone else who tears a labrum is automatically out for the year. Floyd needs surgery on that thing.
I could see it being a shootout for sure. I do think Gates will put on a show against our suspect linebacker and safety coverage though.

Suspect linebacker coverage? I guess you forgot who 50 and 51 are. Those guys are good. The problem at that level will be how good Antonio Gates is, not how bad our linebackers are.

We never play in shootouts. When the other team scores a lot of points, it is a blowout. But we can keep it close if our offense does not go to sleep after halftime.
Gonna bump this for Chargers week.  Let's see if my hunch holds true!
