I like Bortles, I think he's our answer for a franchise QB. I was thinking about yesterday's game and was trying to remember the last time we actually won on the road and seriously can't remember. London game is a home game so it doesn't count.

When the heck are we going to start winning road games lol. It's a joke.
29.4 points per game. Some people don't get it. We won't win a road game until we hold someone to 17-20 points like normal defenses do.
I'm going to the TEN game in Nashville. I'll root him on.
Lets hope he gets a win this weekend...

Well we've not won a lot at home either.

Calm down, we suck in all 3 phases of this game.
How many games has Gus won on the road? Cleveland, Houston, and Tennessee in 2013? I don't think this is just a Bortles issue. The jaguars haven't played well on the road in years.

Of course they have not. Jaguars have historically young team. Young players make mistakes, and they make more of them when not in their environment and when their opposing fanbase is loud. I know they in the NFL and pros, and blah. But you have to remember these are guys just out of college trying to figure out how play in the NFL. On top of that, it is not like they ask the guy next to him "How do deal with?" or "What do I do now?". Everyone keeps forgetting about how important maturity is in the NFL.

"Young team, young players" Young players make mistakes" "Total rebuild" "Gene Smith fault" "2025 we'll compete" and on and on.....

Back to the misc for you.

C'mon man, There is no hope for this team. We've had hope now it's just reality and the reality is we still aren't a winning team. So with that being said as much as we HOPE we beat BAL that will not be the case. As a fan said,"expect to lose every game".
Takes a team to win.
Let's look at this a little close. The Jaguars have lost 13 straight road games of which Bortles started the last 10. Let's review his stats over these 10 games...

9/28/14 @SD - L 14-33 - 29 of 37 for 254 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT

10/12/14 @TEN - L 14-16 - 32 of 46 for 336 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT

11/2/14 @ CIN - L 23-33 - 22 of 33 for 247 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT

11/23/14 @ IND - L 3-23 - 15 of 27 for 146 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT Sick

12/14/14 @ BAL - L 12-20 - 21 of 37 for 210 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT

12/28/14 @ HOU - L 14-33 - 14 of 33 for 114 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT

9/27/15 @ NE - L 17-51 - 17 or 33 for 242 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT

10/4/15 @IND - L 13-16 - 28 of 50 for 298 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT

10/11/15 @ TB - L 31-28 - 23 of 33 for 303 yards, 4 TD, 1 INT

11/8/15 @ NYJ - L 23-26 - 24 of 40 for 381 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT

Clearly he had a bad December on the road his rookie season, but otherwise I'm noticing fairly decent stats. He does have 1 or 2 INTs in all but two of his road games where maybe things can change a little if corrected, but overall he's been rather productive at least in terms of yards. What's more telling to me is the defense allowing 20 or more points in all but two of these games, including 30 or more in half of these road losses.

Get a better kicker, and the Jags beat Indy this year. Get a better run defense, and the Jags beat Tampa Bay. Bortles played well in both games.

Better special teams and the Jaguars beat the Jets.

Agree.

Boom

and there it is! Bottles / the team don't win much at all.

After cycling through 100's of players over the past 5 years, I'm tempted to say the problem might be somewhere else....hmmmm...let me think!

He had a bad December last year because he had arm tendinitis and had his rotator cuff looked at....I know Blake's family from Oviedo and saw them in the offseason. Check out his December stats....he didn't throw the ball down the field.

This quote from the Baltimore Sun.........

" Jacksonville is led by quarterback Blake Bortles...........who? "

I think it's high time we start earning some respect around the NFL.

We're a defense and a head coach away from being a playoff team.
