Quote:We are going to use him as our Leo. That is a pass-rushing linebacker.
Negative, Ghostrider, the pattern is full.

A LEO is a down lineman. Clemons and Branch are also LEOs, and they play with one hand in the turf on the edge of the line.

OTTO is the pass-rushing linebacker position in this defense.
Quote:None of that means anything except that you need to learn more about football.

Meow?

I hate this defense.  I really do.

Words can't describe how sick I am of having to read about LEOs and OTTOs....  The sooner we throw this defensive scheme into the garbage bin, the happier I will be.

Or they could just call it what it is...

An offset 3-4 with the weakside linebacker's hand in the dirt.
Quote:LEO is the name for a Pass Rushing end (I still think the name is stupid). Lined up on the weak side of the formation.

Did you really think Andre Branch and 80 year old Chris Clemons are linebackers?
I'm with you on this. but you never know, they named lee the albino tiger. Maybe gus just likes making up names! Hah.

Isn't it the same thing as a hybrid 3-4? Why not just call a spade a spade.

A hybrid 3-4 implies that the tweener end/backer plays linebacker at least part-time, but otherwise, yeah, it fits that description pretty well.

People do try to be nice to you, but sometimes it seems like you fight it as hard as you can to make them mad.
Quote:Just a thought here...

The Jags are 33.95 Mil under the cap in 2015.

The Jags are projected to be 45.47 Mil under the cap in 2016

If the Jags carry over the entire 33.95 Mil into 2016, then the team will have 79.42 Mil to spend in free agency.

Cutting Beadles (5.5) + Gerhart (3.5) + Clemons (4) adds another 13 Mil to the total or 92 Mil in 2016 cap space.

I think the Jags have some room to sign some free agents.

You are forgetting it a hard cap EVERY year. So if they just carry over $33 million for next year and use up all $92 cap space, then you would project over the cap in 2017 by a significant amount and have to let go of everyone. So what you have to do is make sure that you some cap space free to carry over in following years to account for every year there after.

It is easier to carry over only a minimal amount. Then when they are like a real NFL team that is always near the hard cap, they do not have to cut good players just because and can just begin the process of continually restructuring contracts.
