Gabbert had an average stat line but he looked good to the eye. His receivers did him no favors with those drops but he was accurate and unrattled. Kudos to him.

I think that probably says more about the Atlanta defense than anything
Well, we'll find out when we play Atlanta , that's for sure.

Gabbert just set a bar for the Jags.

Something tells me that Blake will have no problem putting up a better statline than 15-25 for 185 yards and a 2/2 TD/INT ratio.

Blake needs a W against the falcons....not a statline.
I didn't think Gabbert looked all that great. His throws were on target, sure, but I don't think he ever held the ball past the third step on a three step drop. The 49ers did a good job of realizing he had no pocket prescense and developed a game plan to basically have him throw quickly in rhythm. Atlanta just didn't have the DBs to throw off the timing of the receivers so they ate Atlanta alive. A lot of deficiencies from last year in the Falcons' defense are starting to show through again. I wouldn't expect Gabbert's success to continue against better defenses
Gabbert is who he always was... A really good Practice QB.  As long as he can't be hit, he's solid.

And yesterday, he looked pretty solid.

Right up until he got hit.  I kept telling people... watch for it.  As soon as he gets hit 1 time, he's going to transform back into Happy Feet.

Sure enough, one good shot (and man was it a good shot lol) and suddenly he was running from phantom pressure, then throwing a pick.

Did have a nice scramble to convert the game winning 1st down, though.

Quote:Good point.....do they have any left?

If the team was as good as the fan base,  the Lions would have exceeded the Steelers in Super Bowl wins.

He always did look pretty good if you could keep him in a clean pocket and give him plenty of time.  The folks who say he has no talent at all are kidding themselves.  The problem is that when the defense did start to pressure him or hit him, he would fall apart.  Bortles on the other hand seems to rise to the occasion under similar circumstances.  We are orders of magnitude better off than we were with Gabbert.
The Falcons defense is pathetic. Actually cover Gabbert's first read and he'll crumble. The Seahawks are about to expose him.
