Refs are bad. There's plenty of bad calls, missed calls, non-calls in just about every game against every team.

For the Jags,, most games will draw one of the worst ref crews in the league. The Jags start winning,, and getting to play in "premier" matchups,, they'll get to have the best ref crews in the game.

Even then, those guys still mess up too.

Jags want better ref crews,, get out from the bottom of the barrel matchups. Really. You think Ed Hoculi (sp?) and that crew are going to get assigned a Jags vs Jets game over SNF, Packers/Panthers, Indy/Denver?

Uh,, no.

Jags get the scrubs.
Quote:I have to agree. My favorite part was the impromptu ref meeting for 3 minutes allowing the Jets to see 15 replays and decide whether to challenge a play or not. That was nice of them.

Ugh... I forgot about that.  That was terrible as well.  Even the commentators were complaining about that.

"It's ok, the clock's fine!"

One starts to wonder if "Vegas" has infiltrated the NFL, the amount of money that is gambled on these games is astronomical. Yesterday (at times) it almost seemed as if these calls were deliberate, the situation above is a prime example.
Rule of thumb: never leave it up to the refs.

Better play negates all the garbage, blind as a bat, how the heck do you call that, did your parents have any children that lived, incompetent, getting paid too much to suck this bad calls that seemed to all go NY's way.
If you want to play the 'rigged' theory, that the NFL influences the refs to create optimal situations for a desired result, the you would have to think Khan and his money could have at least a little influence. Also, one would suppose the league as a whole would bolster it's up and comers, like the Jags, to generate more revenue both at home and abroad. I think there are certain situations, like the 1st game back in the Superdome after Katrina, where the NFL really needed the Saints to win, or even the Patriots getting to and winning the Superbowl after 9/11, where there may have been some influence exerted. I just can't believe that the league 'Hates the Jags' as much as the refs were less competent in this game than they should have been.

Wanna talk about a fixed game... look what happened in the Denver game with 6 minutes to go.... bad call after bad call to keep the clock running against the Broncos... and I hate Denver and Manning. Now the NFL gets another whole week to hype up Manning passing Favres yardage record. Seemed a little too sketchy not to be fixed in some way.

The holding call on at the end of the game on the field goal attempt was reallllllyyyy bad.

The Broncos have no one to blame but themselves... specifically Talib.  The refs didn't make a bad call on him gouging dudes eyeball.  The Broncos D was in full on meltdown mode at the end of that game.

I... did not quite understand that "holding" call though on the Field Goal.
I know that obviously there are a lot of "judgement" calls, but honestly, some of these officials need better judgement.

Yup, i was sitting in the stands with my wife and i said now they are going to challenge because they are giving them a whole quarter to look at play in the booth. Luckily they didn't

Good point. lol... I need to remember to read what I quote after I quote it and not just before.

Quote:I am not sure how any fan of the game could disagree with any of this. The Parnell holding call late in the game was terrible. Ref bought the acting job. He was in a terrible position to call that. The white hat was on the left hand side of the offense outside of the RT and made that call with Parnell's back to him. Terrible. He saw arms go up and threw it.

It doesn't matter where the ref was as the call was rather obvious. Parnell's arm extended to hold the guy and it did have an impact on the play. I recall a holding call from I'm thinking the Bills game that was truly bogus as our OL kept him arms tucked in the whole time.

I don't recall seeing it that way at all, actually.  At first, I was pretty upset w/ Parnell costing us in the Red Zone... then they showed the replay, and it was a solid block, then the defender turned his body and threw his arms up and sold the hell out of it, while Parnell had his hand dead in the guys chest.

Unfortunately... I deleted the DVR recording in disgust... so I can't even go back and watch it now.  Either way, it was one of at least a half dozen terrible calls/non-calls.

The NFL is fixed. Everyone knows this. Seeing is believing. Two feet down and called incomplete right in front of your eyes.

The damn NFL ain't fixed. You know that already.. The refs are completely inept and magoo-ish, but the damn league ain't fixed.. That's stupid..

Interesting....... A guy I know in the mafia would disagree honestly. NBA and FIFA has already been proven to be fixed. Certain NFL games are most certainly fixed. You may want to read this FACTUAL book and learn.... http://thefixisin.net/
Factual. Lol

You mean the Len Dawson from the 60's and 70's....that Len Dawson? Very current example.

Golly gee...my avatar proves me wrong. Wow, that certainly put me in my place. I guess I'd better go avatar shopping.
