My personal opinion is he should not wrestle girls. I would be open to him wrestling the boys but would want some studies.


Could they measure levels and come up with an acceptable amount?


I blame the athletic administration not the athlete. They took the easy way out. But no way should they have made a situation where he wrestles girls!

If you could have just said this in the first place instead of going round and round I think people would take you seriously.

I tried. I blamed the adults who made the decision to deny him the chance to wrestle boys from the beginning.


Others wanted to blame the athlete.

The second link clears nothing up either.  (the 3rd did not work) The the crux of matter as I see is what is right for "all" athletes affected by this situation and what is political?  

 

With that said, the links you provided do offer a solution as to bringing T levels for males competing as males up to the same levels as other competing males.  Still not the same issue here.  In this instance, a female has been allowed to boost her levels to that of a male and allowed  or compelled if you prefer to compete as a female.

Yet in this case, he has the anatomy of a she.  As such she should compete against other females except she has been taking hormones and testosterone to make her a he.  This is the reality of the situation.  What you are asking indirectly is for gender lines to be erased and for males and females to compete directly against each other.  Agenda's aside, how fair would that be to females?

The athlete is partially to blame. To still wrestle against females knowing you have an unfair advantage is bad sportsmanship.

No special rights. 

 

She is taking performance enhancing hormones, she shouldn't be wrestling anyone in competition. If she wants to wrestle, she can not take the hormones.

Well I think we're only talking about fems who identify has males. So not sure fairness is an issue.

It should. You can't have players juiced outta their minds on testosterone winning on that basis. It's not fair to other people who put in the hard work with their God given talents.

The UFC banned it a few years ago because of abuse but that's a slightly different situation.

It's segments and political articles like this that have ultimately become the death knell of ESPN. They're losing subscribers out the [BLEEP] on a daily basis.

 

And they just had an article out the other day that they're fixing to have some huge job cuts that could change a lot of the current programs they have on air. As more people cut the cable it obviously gives them more freedom and access to additional sports related content that strictly focus on sports. 

 

I honestly can't remember the last time I watched anything on ESPN for more than 10 minutes outside of a MNF game. That's the only time I am truly tuned in on there. Between the SEC, NFL, NBA, NHL & MLB networks out there you really don't need them anymore.  

Indy2Jax, this is in reference to some of your posts on Page 2.

 

They didn't make him wrestle girls.  There is a reason for that ruling to be in place, you just refuse to accept it.  Him, his parents, his coaches, etc all had to know that there was an extreme advantage in him wrestling girls after being testosterone for two years.  He made the choice to become a boy and with that, there are certain things you have to give up....like wrestling girls.

 

Again, common sense and decency needs to come in play here.  What joy did HE get in beating the [BLEEP] out of girls on a wrestling mat?  I know I wouldn't be happy if I won a girls tournament, why would he?

Indy, you do understand there can be more than one person at fault here, right?  The rule has good intentions and trying to stop athletes from getting hurt.  Just because the rule wasn't completely thought out doesn't mean that they were wrong.

 

If the now boy had any integrity he would have said I chose to be a boy, I need to sit this out based on the rules.  His state title is tainted.
