We can start with a W over the jets

Quote:I'm not getting excited about anything until i see this team capable of putting together one complete game.
'Ya know... that would go a long way in boosting some confidence in the direction of this team. Something else that would really help would be for us to pull an upset victory over a team with a winning record; and I mean a good game... with solid football being played on both sides (not one of these games where we're playing a team who's players are all either seemingly dead or dying). Not that it seems to help us all that much most of the time; we tend to lose to teams who are 'beat up' usually.
Quote:stop.

Oh, you know there are people thinking that.
There are 4 games I see us absolutely losing. San Diego, New York, New Orleans, and Atlanta. 7-9 will win this division. If we can somehow win the other 5 toss up games we are getting a home playoff game a first since 1999! lol

you can absolutely see us losing against 2 teams with awful D and high powered O and 2 against strong Ds

so.... we will only beat teams with mediocre offense and defense.

got it.
Quote:And the AFC South is like the NFC South of 2014.  Probably will be a sub .500 team that makes the playoffs this year.  I doubt anyone in this division will reach 8-8.  Jaguars have a chance to dominate right now, but they aren't showing anything that will set them apart.  It's a toss up if any of these teams play each other.  This is there chance, but does anyone have any faith they can take advantage, or will it be the same Jaguars?  Finding ways to lose against mediocre teams.  I honestly have no idea.  It's that bad.

Unfortunately I just don't have any faith that Gus Bradley can take advantage of the opportunity that is right there for the Jags to take.

A better HC, heck yeah, the Jags actually have a real chance to make some noise in the weak AFCS.

With Gus Bradley, well, let's just say the odds are stacked very much against it, no matter how possible the opportunity might look.

C'MON Gus, prove me wrong.

Only the world as we know it.

I mean pretty much.

What has the team shown you that makes you think we can actually beat good teams? We continually give up a lot of points in the 2nd half and we can't score in the 2nd half. I mean EJ Manuel torched us in the 2nd half..... Thats not a good sign of being able to beat good teams.

A few weeks ago I thought the same about San Diego an New York, but now I'm not so sure...

San Diego is now coming off four straight losses, the last of which to a Ravens team that previously had only one win, and they just lost Keenan Allen, their best WR. Their also coming here, and that's a long trip for a west coast team.

As for this week against New York, that's a different team without Fitzpatrick and it's looking like he won't play. It's still a bit up in the air, but I'm guessing a gimpy Geno Smith will be behind center, and if he can't play either it gets pretty ugly for them. Now this is a team accustomed to winning, but they just found themselves blown out last week in Oakland. Meanwhile, the Jaguars are coming off 12 straight road losses, however, I feel it's time for that streak to end. The offense right now is as intact and high power as it's been in a long, long time, and with Sen'Derrick finally having had a couple games to get his feet under him and back in his groove, I feel like the defense is about to turn the corner and actually football. It's going to take a mistake-free game to get it done, but the Jaguars are 2-0 in the Jets division, and I seem them settling down during this bye week and going 3-0.

Deep down I'm honestly thinking this team might be on the verge of an actual winning streak the likes of which we haven't seen in several years.

While I'm kind of with you on this, at the same time I can see the viewpoint that the team has so far shown nothing that tells us they can take advantage of the opportunities presented to them. We've had games handed to us on a plate, and still managed to lose them. Scraping a win in London doesn't change that. If the team starts to play consistently then we might see a change, but you've got to forgive people who don't believe that's likely to happen.

My reasoning for those 4 games is they all (minus NY) pretty much have elite QBs, and we have 0 pass rush= Great games for those QBs. The Jets, if Geno starts, is one of those toss up games, but that defense is looking to rebound off of a poor showing(lets hope the D in Oakland is the one we get vs us). I could see us possibly hitting Tony Boselli's 5-5 guarantee if we win this Sunday though! Flacco doesn't scare me anymore and the Ravens are a mess, we should beat the Titans so 5-5 is a real possibility, if we beat those damn Colts we could be 6-4! Insane!

Jimmy Johnson used to say, "It's not who you play...it's when you play them."

One Game at a Time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, unfortunately we haven't been able to take advantage of the teams we should have when we did play them, at least not yet this season.

It looks like we will have a few more "when you play them" opportunities coming up, will we be able to take advantage of them this time?

<p style="margin-left:40px;">There's hope that those games were learning experiences. The Colts game came down to defensive penalties on one drive giving them a TD they never should have had, and then the missed FGs. With any luck the team has learned from that. As Colin Powell once said,
“There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work and learning from failure.”

Just saw somewhere that the Jags have the easiest remaining schedule for the rest of the season, 2nd is the Jets
If we go .500 the rest of the way out we will win the South.

4-4-1?

Yep.

4-5 would probably get us in too.

We're 2-1 vs. that division, not 2-0.  Your excessive homerism is beginning to cloud your reality.
