that's what you hope, so I understand why you want so desperately to believe it. even though the current AD wasn't the one who hired golden, and who has a short list that has some great names on it (Herman, Fuente, Kelly if the Eagles cut him loose)

I'd be worried and talking to myself too if I were you

Quote:Please stop talking.  The game was over.  It was 4th down and it should have been Miami's ball and they were handed another set of downs.  It was bogus.

All of those referees should have had a criminal investigation into what they did that night.

You are just hating on Ohio State like so many other people here so arguing about this would be a waste of time. But to say the game was over is extremely ridiculous.

The game was over. A phantom call extended it, and everyone and their brother, including many Buckeye fans will tell you that.

If that bogus call wasn't made, Miami would have had the ball and ran the clock out.  That's it, end of story.  That's not hating on Ohio, that's stating an obvious fact.

I'm not even a Miami fan.  People who hate Miami know Miami won that national title.

What you seem to forget is that there are a myriad of better jobs open right now than Miami, and a few more like Georgia could open up too. You aren't getting any of those top guys because Miami isn't a destination anymore.

Miami won't shell out the dough to bring someone in there. The current president has stated as much. He wants the focus back on academics and not athletics, in particular football. He used the term athletics when he said this, but it was evident what he was referring to.

One reason I hate Miami - their lack of commitment to the football program. I totally agree they should focus more on academics, but that does not mean they should have crappy football facilities, coaches, etc.

dear friend, how were those facilities and coaches looking when they dominated CFB for a 20-25 year period?

Recruits don't care about what happened with Miami 20-25 years ago. It's ancient history.

care to answer the question?

Yeah, Miami was good back then. Guess what? It means diddly squat now. Recruits today don't care about how good Miami was 30 years ago.
Since you refuse to answer, i'll answer for you:

"Because facilities don't mean anything....all you have to do is get the right coach, and with that recruiting base, you will win instantly."

Facilities do mean something today. Recruits want to play for schools that have top notch facilities, not schools that turn their average weight room into a night club like Golden did.

And please, Miami will not "win instantly." Tons of programs are tapped into recruiting South Florida now. This won't be like Schnellenberger's state of Miami recruiting strategy.

I know it's tough for you being a Miami fan, but it's time to stop living in the past. This is the reality of recruiting today. Recruiting is an arms race. Miami has been losing the arms race for years because your administration refuses to put money into the football program.
meh

no they don't

we get the right coach, we'll be back in short order

we already have a much better QB than you guys, and that's half the battle Smile

Even if you get the right coach i think it's going to take some time to turn it around into a playoff team. Teams from all over the country have been plucking recruits from south florida for years. It's going to be hard to fend off all those teams.
