The Bears replace Jay Cutler with...Jay Cutler. Brilliant.
I'm not as sold on drafting a DE in the first as others seem to be. There's a lot to be said for getting a bookend for Fowler, but the team just needs so much help elsewhere. Between the offensive line, the defensive line, linebackers, secondary, even possibly a stud receiver, there are a lot of ways the team could go.
I've been coming around to the idea of getting a DB in free agency and going pass rusher in the draft, primarily because the idea of a CB coming here and half-assing it is completely out the window because of how much pride you have to have in your game to be a CB. No amount of money is worth a guy on the other side burning you and talking trash.
I'm always worried players come here for a free check. A top flight FA CB would never do that.
I would be super peeved if they didn't draft Hargreaves.
My draft based off that would be Vernon Hargreaves in the 1st and then Scooby Wright in the 2nd.
Fowler, Hargreaves, and Scooby would do wonders for our defense.

Who would you take going by Rang draft? Hargreaves is off the board
The way Rang's draft played out, Smith would be a good get. A perfect fit for what the team needs.

I'm down with that or oakman in the second

Do you bench Skuta?

I'd go Jaylon Smith or Myles Jack there.

They have us picking at 9. Thoughts? If we take Lawson and Hargreaves is still on the board I don't think I would like that too much
I would be happy with either player. Lawson has been a beast for clemson.
If rather have VH3 then Bullard in the second
Quote:Im wondering if he will be big enough to play him at MLB?
T. Smith - J. Smith - Skuta
This is what I would do based off of Rang's mock. We have our MLB of the future in Jaylon Smith. Kuechly weighs in the low 240s, so Smith's weight shouldn't be an issue.

Rang has us taking Smith
I'd go for a Smith/Ragland combo in this scenario.

Quote:Or cut/trade him. He has zero dead money after this year.

Nah. Keep Skuta and work him into the rotation at both the OTTO and LEO spots. If you're going to cut, cut Clemons. Skuta seems to still have some gas in the tank.
Lawson, Jack, Smith, or Billings I'm good with. I'd hate it if they took VH3.
