Quote:0-2 in the division, we have some hay to make.
Yeah, the four remaining division games are huge if we plan on contending for the AFC South title this season. We'd most likely need to win 3 of 4.

Welcome to the 2015 Jacksonville Jaguars schedule!

You don't win divisions by looking at other teams' schedules and saying, "These guys have tough road the next few weeks." You win by having a good team that can win games.
Sorry but this Jags team is just not there yet. The offense is growing by leaps and bounds but the defense is horrendous.
Another year of additions to the defensive side of the ball and then we're in business. It's not what people want to hear but it's the truth.

Good input, though I think most of us realize such, that we're still a ways off. BUT in the midst of what is turning out to be a depressing season because we are so close in games (rather than just being blown out constantly as we have grown accustomed to), there's this little piece of hope of something absolutely comical happening and us winning the division (despite it all).
STOP RAINING ON OUR ATTEMPT AT HAPPINESS! (lol)

Meh I can't call another team's schedule hard, when our only wins came against a poor phins team, and a banged up bills team who's backup QB turned the ball over 3 times in 2 minutes, twice for scores on the play. I wouldn't count on that every week.
I still say we split with the tinhorns and tacks...and maybe beat baltimore , but I see us losing the rest of the games.

I think that it's kind of amusing that just a few days ago people on this board were saying that we wouldn't win another game. Now some want to talk playoffs and winning the division. I say just focus on the next game and the team should just focus on getting better. Division wins and playoffs will come.

This is going to be a pretty long bye week.
I do think we have a shot. However something needs to happen with our D for us to have a shot at it. What that is Im not sure...

The defense needs to step up big time to have any shot

It is crazy. Looking at the schedule and it isn't being a homer to think we have a chance. Not because we are good, but our division is on the border of historically bad.
For the Gus supporters left, anything but winning the division at this point is a failure in year 3 of rebuild with the young talent we have and how bad the division is.

There are no easy wins in the NFL. This is not college for Pete's sake.
The win against the Bills was gift wrapped and delivered to us by E.J. Manuel then we still had to muster a drive with some ref help to win. But we won. That win only clouds the reality of how ineffective this team is on both sides of the ball.

Agreed to a certain extent. We will become better just by doing one thing. Bench gerhart.

The AFC South could be the worst division in NFL history, but we still won't win it.
There are too many holes on the roster - no pass rush, horrible safeties, worst kicker in the league. Gus is simply not cut out to be the coach that gets us to the playoffs.
On a positive note, Bortles/Hurns/ARob/Yeldon are getting the offense on track, and quite possibly could be the best young group in the NFL. If Julius Thomas can live up to his billing and get in sync with Bortles - could be a rather potent offense.

I'll bet no other team or it's fans say that about the Jags.

If only we had beat the Texans, Colts, And Bucs.
I still no confidence in Gus to lead this team to big wins against decent/good opponents

One crappy win isn't giving me this much hope.

Quote:I agree, the saving grace is Chuck Pagano, Ken Wisenhunt, and Bill O'Brien are all bad as well. I was on the Bill O'Brien bandwagon but that Texans team looks like they've thrown in the towel, never
a good look for a head coach.
Wow that bill o brien bandwagon lasted a whole week

The Jaguars are currently 19th in Defense, (22nd against the Pass, 12 against the Run), and 24th in Offense (15th in Passing, 24 in Rushing).
The running is a bit shocking considering TJ Yeldon is the 3rd best RB out of the rookie class..
he's currently
101 attempts, 406 yards, 4.0 Average, 1 TD, no fumbles, 13 first downs in running &
16 Rec, 23 Targets, 82 yards, 5.1 avg, 1 TD, 6 First Downs, no fumbles!
and one tackle.... on defense!
Not bad for a 2nd round pick RB! He also has been very good in blocking assignments.
