With one more TD and about 1100 more passing yards, Blake will cement himself as number 4 in franchise history in TDs and yards.  Another 4300 yards and 25 TDs will put him in the top 3.

He needs to average 283.3 passing yards a game to break the franchise record for passing yards in a season (Brunell, 4367 in 1996) and average less than a TD a game to break the season record for TDs in a season (Garrard, 23 in 2010).

Averaging his numbers for the first 7 games over the entire season he will finish the year with 4143 yards, 34TDs, and 18 picks.

Just for giggles here is how the other young gun QBs project over a full year:

Carr: 3893/29/8

Teddy: 3570/19/11 (Looks like a Garrard stat line)

Winston: 3922/24/19

Manziel: 1524/12/9 (if McCown doesn't come back)

Marriota: 3470/25/14

Overall, Blake is gonna Blake.  He's going to attempt to force throws which result in picks.  At the same time he is also going to put the ball where his receiver can make a play.  If we can get 4K and 30TDs a year from a QB, I'd say he was worth the #3 pick.

I'm good with it. I think he will easily surpass Brunell for a lot of franchise records.

Ehh hopefully. Injuries can still happen.
True. Without injury the one/two RB punch wouldve been Taylor and Tavian Banks.

Hoping for the best but definitely excited for BB5's future.  Garrard was a vet so he was good  but was never viewed as a long term franchise answer coming in.  Byron was ok.  We just finally have a good young QB to proudly believe in and, barring little to no setbacks in his development, get our kids and future Jags' ticket owners excited about.

Bortles will Shatter the TD record in a season.

He will probably break the record in Week 10
Blake is a slinger, he'll have some big games and throw a bunch of TDS but he'll also throw some ints and pick 6's. Fun to watch.

QBs with 15+ passing TDs in 2015:

Tom Brady (16)

Blake Bortles (15)

Philip Rivers (15)

Aaron Rodgers (15)

That is some pretty good company to be included in. He's only like 8 or 9 TDs away from the franchise record as well.

Exactly.

The boring bye week makes me anxious.  I need more BB5 progression footage to start my Monday ughhhhh
To think, soon Jacksonville's QB position may be the envy of fans of many teams in the league, if not now.

WHo would trade QBs straight up for Bortles?

Houston?  Yes.

Buffalo..?  Yes.

N.Y. Jets? Yes

Cleveland? Yes

KC?    Yes

Denver?  Maybe

Washington?  Yes

Philadelphia?  Yes

Chicago?     Yes

St. Louis?   Yes

San Francisco?  Yes

I'd say right now...at least a third of the league would at least consider a trade straight up for Bortles.

We truly do have a pantheon of great qbs in our franchise history.

But yeah, Bortles may just work out.
Bortles is getting better. Let's see him do it for a full year.

Really is an amazing thing that he can already start breaking franchise records, in his 2nd season. I expected him to blow up in his 3rd season. Everything we are seeing right now are just steps in the right direction to his development.
It is a rather sad listing when you look at it.  Brunell...Garrard for a few years.....and what Leftwich might've been. Then....the cliff of Chenne and Blaine

I just hope he stays healthy. I do believe he can keep improving as well as the team around him. If he stays healthy this will be a fun career to watch.
