"However, with Super Bowl aspirations, Sunday was the type of embarrassing loss that could make an owner ponder scrapping his entire project and starting anew. If the 2-5 Jaguars overtake them in the division in the next couple weeks, the "heated conversations" will intensify."

Honestly, Its a bit baffling we keep hearing this sentence over and over. The possibility of the Jags taking the division away from Indy. These are the same media that have blasted the Jags over and over.

Is bortles really the reason they think we have a shot? Are we as fans not seeing something obvious?

We are on our way.  The results of the rebuild are starting to show.  Bortles is a bad mofo.

Now imagine we didn't lose to the Texans (got down 41-0 against Fins), Colts (without Luck) and TB (who blew a 20 point lead to the Skins).

We would be looking pretty.

And what results are those? Lol, we beat a beat up team with the worsr QB in the league and people here are talking playoffs.

Well we are only 1 game behind AND would be in first place if the kicker knew how to kick. It's a rebuild that is working, but still needs A LOT of work.

Yea, The closer we get to winning this division, The more those two losses will hurt. But then again, Its better to be close than last.

I think you both are right here. On one hand, I think us as fans are underestimating (somehow) the ascension of Bortles due to his unlucky pick 6's which should have been taken back. The rest of the league might be seeing it. They might be seeing a team with a QB who could be developing into a top 7 dude. At the same time, Look who we've beat...That doesnt garner much respect imo

We lose a game, it's the end of the world. We win a game, "playoffs babay!"

Love it.
Either way you swing it. I think the fan base is maddeningly frustrated because of losing winnable games which would have greatly reshaped the outcome of the season. But I'm hoping that pulling out a win Sunday is a small step in the right direction. Sure it was a banged up team. But you see the potential there.
Its because the failure of the golden child would be a huge story.

All that matters we won. We were in those games vs the Colts, Bucs, Texans but made dumb mistakes and could have potantially won all those games.  The offense is showing it can move the ball (of course they have their droughts). Those are improvements compared to the last couple of seasons.  lol

You are discussing two different "groups" here. I don't think anyone here thinks the Jags have a realistic shot at the playoffs this year but I do think the Media does because of Bortles ascension and the Colts imploding. They didn't even mention the Texans or Titans. Why? QB
Clots have another loss coming next Monday.

Having said that. I wish they could flex them out of prime time games. What a joke.

If they can stay within a couple of games of the clots into December and at least make the 2nd half of the season meaningful for the first time in almost a decade, I think that would make most people happy at this stage of the game.

Yea..... I know.

The groups just get louder depending on the result.

$10 says if we are "technically" in it for the last 2 weeks and dont make it, This board will still be calling for Gus' head.

The fans always get angry. They are never happy. The media justs...changes every week. I dont think their loud at all.
It's more of a back-handed compliment.

Indy is so bad.... the Jags could take the division...

Gus isn't the answer.

I don't know what more he has to do wrong for some people to realize that.
I love football.

Be honest. Can you really blame them?

This is the perfect storm for the Jaguars.

We have the players to take the division. The Colts is getting knocked around as if they are nobodies. The Titans and Texans is non threats. We had 3 games this year that should have been won. Just one of them would put us at the top of the division, especially if it was against the Colts.

It will be a failure if we don't win this bad division this year. We have the most complete team in the AFC South. The title is there for the taking. We just need to get out there, take it, and go to the playoffs.

We have a chance to get some national respect. Failure to get the division this year should put Gus on the chopping block.
