I am watching the replay of the scouting combine, and on the crawl I see that Alabama LB Reuben Foster, considered by most observers to be a first round pick, was sent home from the combine after getting in an argument with hospital staff.
I've never heard of anything like that happening before.
What in the world could have happened to cause him to get in an argument at the combine?!?
I wonder how much this will hurt his stock.
Edit : This from PFT...

He had a shoulder problem and given the argument was at a hospital, people are speculating that he wasnt medically cleared or something injury related
Someone else on twitter also said he was having bad interviews as well
But everything that you can find on him outside of the combine says that hes a leader and generally a decent guy so its a weird story, might just be having a bad week.
He was also doing poorly in the team interviews he had up to that point too. Got some image rehab to do.
So let's assume this is a worst case scenario for him...his shoulders are a medical red flag, his interviews were disastrous, and the argument all combine to drop his draft stock.
If he falls to us in the second round, would you take a chance on him assuming his shoulders are not hamburger?

If all of that is true I'd think the Chiefs jump on him at 27. They love taking advantage of that type, and it might be their #1 need.

Yes...that pick would make sense on a lot of levels.
But what if he fell to us somehow?
With Telvin Smith, Poz, and Jack on the roster, with us managing not to get Jack PT last year and the team indicating they want him in 85% of the plays this year, and Fowler possibly being moved to SLB, especially if DE is the pick at 4, would you take Foster if he fell to us in the 2nd?
I would be sorely tempted, but probably not.

If we did take foster, poz would have to be traded or relegated to the bench.

That may happen even without adding another LB.
But I will say if this happened, at this point, we'd have enough quality and versatility at LB to justify the talk of a 3-4 (though we still wouldn't have the NT).

I hope so. I like poz as much as the next guy but hes unnecessary and getting in the way of a more promising player getting development

ehh even if you added reuben it doesnt change much, wed still have three 3-4 ILBs.

I wouldn't say "unnecessary" but certainly a liability in man coverage and certainly a hinderance to developing Jack. (Though some would say Jack has to beat him out).
I am in agreement with you here

If you count Poz, a 3-4 alignment with the LBs could look like this
ROLB-Jack or Fowler (I know you'd have issues with that, LOL)
ILB, Poz and Foster
LOLB Fowler?
Though a problem with that is while Jack could play in space at ROLB, he's not the edge rusher you would typically want in that spot. Furthermore, while Jack might be a better fit at ILB, he'd likely have to take on the guards, which is why his best fit would be 4-3 MLB.
I think in a 3-4 Telvin Smith would be the biggest loser.
Edit: nevermind. Just remembered Poz hated the 3-4. He would like it less being much older.
Glock is right. Even adding Foster, we'd still have only 3 viable 3-4 LBs.

jack at either olb spot pretty much makes no sense
ilb can go to any of foster/jack/poz/telvin in any combination you have two odd men out or one if poz is traded
that just leaves fowler and ngakoue at olb which sounds terrible
were set up for a 4-3 no matter which way you slice it really

Agreed with the first statement.
Jack is not the edge rusher at ROLB, and you don't want him taking on TEs in the run game at LOLB. That's what kept him off the field last year in part.
Hate the idea of Telvin at ILB. He would be a horrible fit there. Poz would be too.

Maybe if he would be the perfect OTTO, but I'm not sensing as much from his write-ups.
In the 2nd round I'm looking at several possibilities. I'd love see a top four qb fall between Trubisky, Walters, Kizer and Mahones. If they're gone, I'm hoping to see Njoku fall at TE or else McCaffrey or Mixon at RB. If not there as well, I'd get an OL... perhaps Moton... or a CB. There should be a few really good CBs still available if everyone else is gone.
I originally had him going to the Bengals, but they might pass on him now in favor of a premier pass rusher to play opposite Carlos Dunlap. I still don't see him falling passed Washington though. They had one of the worst rushing defenses in the NFL last year and could use a player like Foster. I can't see him falling any further.

But say Washington goes another route because somebody unexpected fell... how far is Foster falling?
Besides that, I was the Redskins GM in the last draft and I'll guarantee they go Fournette if he falls that far.

If they did pass on him, I see no way he gets passed K.C. He may not even get to Washington though. Baltimore lost their leading tackler (Orr) to retirement and Foster would be an ideal replacement.
I see no way Washington places that high of a priority on RB. Like it or not, Rob Kelley did a really good job for them last year. He showed he can be pretty good starter in that Washington offense. They just have too many glaring needs on defense and they might lose WR DeSean Jackson as well.
I'd bet the farm that Mixon is off Coughlin's board altogether.
He's acting out because he wants to drop in the draft and go to the Patriots. Genius.
