Nope, it's a worldwide thing it seems.

That's chrome polish. If you want to name something a "shandy" it has to taste like furniture polish.

I remember hearing a lot of good stuff about it from my Wisconsin friends and I was all worked up to give it a shot. But much like Fat Tire, the results did not meet the hype. As for a warm weather beer, Crabbies Ginger Beer is some seriously good stuff. At least, in my opinion it is.

Why does she want to get into beer if she doesn't like the taste?
What beers has she tasted? Bud? That stuff is very watered down compared to legit beers. My favorites are from Stone Brewing Company. Personal fav is their Arrogant Bastard Ale.

I'm not a huge fan of ginger beers, but I even thought it was pretty good.

Quote:Why does she want to get into beer if she doesn't like the taste?Oaked Arrogant Bastard is, imo, Stone's best brew, but their vanilla porter is also really good. Stone's got a lot of good beers in general. My all-time favorite from them was a one-off collaboration with Green Flash and Pizza Port called Highway 78, in reference to the freeway that connects Escondido, Carlsbad and Oceanside, CA, where those three breweries are located. Best beer I've ever had, no question about it.

Heh. And Stone is building a brand spanking new beer facility just a few minutes drive from my place.
Who's the big winner?! This guy!
