Quote:Sugar is the culprit. A couple decades ago it was thought fat was the culprit, so food producers started substituting sugar for fat to make their processed products more palatable. Now, years
later, we have babies born with diabetes.
Also a lack of iodine
It's not the pork. This is the real culprit...
<p style="margin-left:40px;">"Studies also show that people who eat a lot of red meat tend to eat fewer plant-based foods that protect against cancer."
Quote:Life expectancy is up all across the globe but yet we remain firmly ahead of the rest of the world in cancer. If it was an age thing Europe and Asia would be seeing the same level of increase in cancer and that's not the case. I'm not saying it's all the food I'm just stating I think how we grow, preserve and consume it is part of the problem.
I was joking about the microwave but it does bother me on some level. Just the whole using radiation to short cut cooking one of those mind screw jobs for me.
Sorry, but you're wrong. We don't lead the world in cancer anything

Quote:I have to disagree with part of this. I personally have seen with my own eyes in my own family people get cancer. One of them is my cousin who is much younger than I. He had cancer and went through the whole chemo thing while in his 20's. I saw a very fit 6ft. + guy (he is very athletic) go from probably 180 to around 100 very quickly while undergoing chemo.
The diabetes part, that might be so.
Anyone at any age can get cancer, but the longer one lives the more likely it is that one will get cancer. There's a genetic link too, some people are more likely than others to get cancer based on their genes.
Cancer can certainly be caused by environmental factors, but even then one's genes can affect how likely one is in developing cancer from exposure to environmental risks.

No Muslim countries in the top 10 may be proving your original statement.
Of course, I'm not seeing the Pig-eating Germans, Chinese, or Italians in there, either...

Few years ago swear I read an article how we lead the world in cancer, diabetes and infant mortality guess we've improve in cancer.
I still think what we eat and how it's handled has to do with all of our health issues as a nation.

We eat too much and move too little. End of story.

Denmark? Bernie Sanders' socialist paradise? Does socialism cause cancer? I think we need to investigate that possibility.

I need a 5 million dollar grant and 3 months onsite next summer then I'll let you know.

Bingo.

They have a high rate of smokers.
It's how the foods are processed nowadays that leads to an increased risk in cancer.
But cancer is so multifactorial, from genetics to the environmental factors, and is highly variable among individuals.
The far far far left hate meat consumption. It is one of the leading indicators and signs of a nation's wealth given the amount of resources needed to raise livestock.
I think cigars, cigarettes, chewing tobacco, microwaves, cellphones, laptops, sitting by the windows on airplanes, and other things are far more dangerous (in regards to causing cancer) than eating bacon.

I think its the sun. In fact, we should just get rid of it to cure both cancer and Global Whateveritscalledtoday.

1. You aren't allowed to divide by zero.
2. It doesn't matter whether or not you sit next to a window. The radiation level is the same no matter where you sit in an airplane.*
* unless the guy in the seat next to you has a nuclear weapon

True story, and maybe this is a bit hypocritical on my part, I was flying on a business trip a few years back, seated in the window, and a small guy who appeared Middle Eastern came and sat in the middle. He immediately spread out like he owned the plane, taking almost half of my seat with his outstretched arm and leg. He had a tattoo down his arm, two words, partially concealed by his sleeve. Never could see out the first word under his sleeve, but the second word was, "JIHAD". Goes without saying that I did not ask him to get out of my seat, and even though it was only a 90-minute flight, it was perhaps the longest flight of my life.

That's when you should do exactly that, make him move before the plane leaves the gate. That's when you can still get help if needed.

In his underwear.
