Quote:LOL.  It's only March, yet some people already predict what not only the D does, but how good/bad our QB will be.

What do you prefer people do during the 7 month period known as the offseason?

Live life.
turrible thread is turrible lol

Maybe we could draft Connor McGregor to beat up JJ watt next year
Let's get a good look at this terrible secondary as it currently stands. I'm thinking an all-inclusive early depth chart looks like...

  • RCB Jalen Ramsey, Josh Johnson

  • FS Tashaun Gipson, Peyton Thompson

  • SS Barry Church, James Sample, Jarrod Wilson

  • NB Aaron Colvin, Akeem Davis

  • LCB AJ Bouye, Doran Grant, Elijah Shumate

Omg!  I think I just threw up in my mouth a little.  That's horrendous!
That secondary will be terrible when injuries set in as the season goes on because the Jags starters are fragile as glass, except Bortles.

How many games did they miss last season?

Ramsey - 0

Bouye - 1

Gipson - 0

Church - 4 (for a broken arm, iirc)

Fragile? c'mon guy...

Also... pretty sure in another thread you said you over reacted about the secondary being terrible with this thread...

yet here you are... doubling down on it?

When I look at these names, there are a few newcomers in Grant, Davis and Shumate. Davis and Shumate haven't played in games and appear to be practice squad candidates, but Grant is a vet with some experience. What does anyone know about Doran Grant? When we waived House, I have to think they feel Grant is at least just as good.

Not sure why you draw any conclusions on what the F.O. thinks of Grant due to the release of House, but I can tell you a bit about Grant.

He was a fourth round pick, lacks length, and was projected to be a "zone slot guy" by analysts coming out in 2105.  Ran a 4.44 forty.

Jags added him to PS in October 2016 and gave him a reserve/futures contract after the season.  Has been previously waived by steelers and giants.

Looking at this, I could see them adding a midround corner to the mix for depth. Very thin after the first 3.
For the moves we've made, I feel really good about the Jags....even more better this up coming season. Calais, Jackson, Marks, Bennett or Cann on the line. :O WOW! You can see the confidence in the new signings. Keeping high hopes and believing the Jags will not let us down this year. Thanks Tom  Welcome home and you don't have to worry about coaching.

I just did a "Fanspeak" mock draft and managed to get Marcus Lattimore in round two. I don't see that happening, but there will be some incredibly talented CBs just sitting there at the top of round two, and some really good starting-caliber corners falling to round three as well. In rounds four and five you can still find exceptional depth.

I think as of right now, Josh Johnson is going to be in a camp battle with Colvin for the NB spot.

Not to derail the thread but Mayweather is about to make him look silly.

Mayweather is going to mop the floor with him.
I too will miss Cypt but I welcome his replacement.
