Quote:That's fine.

He's as good as gone anyway. It doesn't matter to me if they do it now or after the season.

I don't agree. If he can get this team hot, the last month of the season lends itself to very winable games. We win this week in a non-division game and suddenly 6 wins doesn't seem so unattainable.
I don't think most people expected him to be fired mid-season.  If he gets the boot, it'll be at the end of the year.

Yeah, that looks to be the case. But I honestly think that his coaching philosophy is hurting the mentality of the younger players.

In my opinion, I think he should be fired immediately. I'm not trying to be a jerk about it. I don't think that keeping him till the end of the season will kill this team. I'm just saying that, to me, he's now doing more harm than good.

We will have faced Hasselbeck, Winston, Hoyer and now Manuel..... I mean....

For once the stars aligned for the Jags! And we didn't capitalize.

Normally when you have the better QB you win..... unless you're the Jags of course.

The catalyst of notoriety: six wins.
Shocking...

If we lose to the limping bills...it will speak volumes about Gus

Honestly, that's probably the correct view point. We get so emotionally attached to this team and we want wins, it's natural for us as fans to act how we have been.

The reality is this is a team that went from consistently blown out even by bottom feeders (Washington 2014) to being in every game with a chance to win and just unable to close them out yet.

Of course there are legitimate coaching and personnel concerns. And Gus still probably isn't the right HC for us. But from an outside view that's hard for us to rationalize, this team is better than 2013 and 2014. Much better.

Love your posts, mvannostran!

What you say is sensible. And FBT also said something similar to this. "Lose big, lose little, win little, win big" is a possible sign that a team is progressing. And we can be considered in the midst of the lose little step in the process.

However, I'd like you to consider one thing. To really gauge whether we are progressing through this manner, should we not consider the opponents we've been "losing little" to?

In my opinion the last four games should have been "win little" games. The talent we have on this team is better than what we faced. To me, the coach has failed to get the best out of these players.
I could actually see Gus staying around next year the way things are going.

There is a very very strong possibility that this is the case.  The Khan endorsement and the stories leaking out is they expect this as part of the process.

My only issue is them saying a three year plan and being rah rah about it with the fans.  This year is not "the" year.  We still need more players and some true play makers.

Smh just pathetic

Meh. Any competent owner/GM knows that it doesn't take four years to turn a team around. This is starting to look like a deliberate attempt at destroying fan support. It's working.

Thanks man! I try to keep a level head, that's why I try to avoid coming here immediately after a loss lol

But to your question. You're right, if we were to follow that pattern, these past 3 absolutely should have been "win little" games.

It just seems the Jags are best friends with Murphy. Something always goes wrong. A lot of it is bad luck: missing fgs, tipped passes that land where no one can get an INT, ridiculous helmet catch, penalty to negate converting the onside kick.

There's also coaching problems delaying that. Or what appears to be coaching problems: illegal formations, penalties, underperforming players still starting.

Then there's the inexperience issue: Wrong routes run, bad qb decisions, again missed fgs, missing assignments.

A lot of these overlap, a lot of it is just plain bad luck. Maybe we just aren't quite there yet. We started the season with no 2nd half offense. The last 3 games our point differential through 3 quarters is 0. So we've learned to play 3, do we soon figure out 4? How much is coaching? I think a lot is, but again, I'm no expert, just seems like there's a coaching issue. How much is just plain learning to win? And how much is bad luck?

I agree we should have a better record, and maybe better coaching would have gotten us there. So would have better luck. And same with proper execution by young guys.

We're getting better, it's slow and painful, but we are. Maybe mixing up the defense will put us over that edge. Who knows?

I just want to win.

There's a better chance of me winning the lottery.

They SHOULD win this week.  It's a winnable game.

It's not all about the W/Ls for me.  The product on the field, the continued sloppy play week after week, season after season, is a sign that things are not working.  Gus wasn't the right guy.
Shad: "Gus hasn't had the record any of us would like, but I promised him I would stay committed to the process, and that's what I'll do." @ryanohalloran

It should be. If we were playing like crap but yet had a 4-2 record, I wouldn't care. Playing really well and losing means nothing.

Tell stone hands Lewis that.
Quote:Jaguars will have Bradley as a coach thru the end 0f the 2016 season. He was given a four year contract and that is what Khan will give him. Book it.
Not sure how you can say that without knowing how we do the rest of the year.  If we go winless the rest of the year or even only win a couple more games, how do you justify keeping him?
