Where do you think this team would be right now if Wayne Weaver still owned it? Do you think he would have given up on Gene Smith by now?

He was burnt out and didn't care anymore. Just wanted his MONEY!!!    He would have sold it in a heartbeat.

I have to disagree. Weaver could have easily sold to one of those sleazebags looking to move to L.A, but found someone willing to keep the team in JAX. 

 

His character trait that kept the Jags here is the same one that put us in the cellar talent wise. Loyalty.

Gene Smith is the primary reason the team bottomed out at $600 Million while other teams were valued at $1 Billion +

0-6  There's not way Gabbert, after signing the long term extension valued at $150 million, would have beaten the Dolphins.

Not that it would of happened anyway, but I remember when Randy Moss was a FA, Wayne Weaver said something like " We would never sign a player with that kind of character".

 

Randy Moss went on to break the single season TD reception record that year.

I could be wrong, but like I said, the years of stink are blending together now.

Gene Smith would still be the GM... 'nuff said.

We would finally be at least 7-8, 8-8, 9-7 record, maybe a playoff wildcard berth, but elimated, then back to 3 win seasons, then rebuild again.
