The Jacksonville Jaguars today placed undrafted rookie RB Corey Grant (hip flexor tear) and first-year WR Tony Washington (severe hip flexor strain) on the team’s reserve/injured list.

The Jaguars promoted rookie WR Neal Sterling to the active roster from the club’s practice squad. The team now has one opening on the active 53-man roster.

The Jaguars released DT Ziggy Hood from the team’s reserve/injured list, after passing his physical, and also released QB Jeff Tuel from the practice squad.

The Jaguars signed undrafted rookie WR Rasheed Bailey and second-year S Craig Loston to the team’s practice squad. The club has a full 10-man practice squad.

What I find interesting is that a WR is promoted to the active roster, and recent signings are simply players to the practice squad.  There is one spot open on the 53 man roster.  This smells like a trade in the works.

a trade involving who/what?

Hopefully defensive help is coming
Willie Young please!!!

Could it be that perhaps the team is looking to trade a WR for someone on defense?
Can't imagine who they would trade from the WRs. To me they just brought up sterling because Washington went on IR
They only had two guys up at WR at the end of the game on sunday.  They need bodies and this is sterlings shot to prove that he belongs.

Probably Lee.

Walters and Allen Robinson got banged up Sunday. They just need healthy receivers to make the trip over as insurance.

Or prove he does not belong. There obviously is a reason we got Washington and Walters before promoting Sterling.

But who knows, Sterling might do something if he is needed.
Nah, they left a spot open on the roster so the Jags can promote their latest

Fan Contest in London.

"Let a Limey Play"

Lee for Connor Barwin
How often does an NFL team leave a spot open on the 53 man roster?

So let me get this straight...those "changes" Gus talked about involved moving some guys to IR, releasing a guy from IR, promoting a guy from the practice squad and adding guys to the practice squad? Our kicker can't hit the broad side of a barn from ten paces, our pass rushers are a humiliating joke, our offensive line might as well be a bunch of tackling dummies and our safeties are about as useful as a gas can in a forest fire, and the most significant "change" made is to promote a guy from the practice squad?

Accountability my [BLEEP].

Never. This means trade.

Could be that someone just got waived and they plan on claiming him since we should be first in the claim order.

It makes too much sense.
There is almost no chance that the open spot means a trade.   What is likely, is that someone gets picked up off the street, off of someone else's practice squad or our practice squad.  And it may depend on the health of our people in next day or so as to who that person is.

That's the other likely possibility.  It will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow.

A 53-man spot open on Tuesday night does not indicate a trade.
