Smh @ the mixon hate. He made a horrible decision but is the best back in this class talent wise. Hopefully we get a mean lower his shoulder type RB on the field w/ that 'blessed be' Jacksonville community persona when off it.

Went through it on the other thread but the guy is basically unapologetic about it and has had other legal issues since then.
If it smells like Lawrence Phillips...
Besides, it would a PR nightmare and would turn off women for cheering for the Jags. Hard pass.

If the arthritis is being overblown (and maybe it is) then some lucky team is going to get a bargain if he falls out out of the the top three.
If Garrett, Fournette and Thomas are gone (very possible) why not us?
Very interesting.
I'm starting to think, no matter whom we draft, I'm going to have buyer's remorse and covet one or more of the guys that slid right past us.
Quote:Thing is, with the condition being at the point of becoming arthritic, is the guy's playing career going to be long enough to get him into the "prime" years of 4 - 7?
The question here is...will TC/Marrone/DC care?
Let's not sugar coat it...this team needs to win now. If you're one of those three and Myles/Solomon go one and two and you feel like you can get a RB later in the draft...do you care if Allen can only play three years if he'll help this team turn the corner those three years?

If the arthritis is overblown and the jags feel confident this guy can play at a high level for at least 5 years then I'd take him.
It was between Adams and Allen for me before free agency. I like fournette too, but I'd hope for more value, like Allen in the first and Mixon later.
Jon Allen is a beast. No doubt about it he's worth a top 3 pick, but the arthritis gives me trepidations.

That's a valid question. Personally, I'm tired of waiting. I want to win now. To hell with the future. I mean that seriously.
The doctors are saying he's fine to play football, and he's saying he won't be an issue for him until well after his football days are over.
Again, I'm taken back to the days of John Henderson and his crooked spine. The Chiefs GM was afraid he wouldn't be able to get low enough for leverage saying he wouldn't draft him. Articles came out about him dropping in the draft, but TC held firm and took him. Is anyone upset with that pick now?

If that's true, then he's definitely in play at 4 depending on who is there.
