Bosa is a big kid, perhaps have him drop a few pounds and get down to 260-265, and he'd be perfect at LEO

Why are we talking about LEOs and OTTOs when Gus most likely won't even be here next year? For all we know we will be running a 3-4 next year.

We not be running a 3-4 because our best defensive player (Marks) does not fit in a 3-4.


If we do switch over to a 3-4 then Nkemdiche will definitely be our pick because we don't have enough personnel for it and Nkemdiche would be a perfect fit as a 3-4 DE and a replacement for Marks. But it doesn't matter, because who ever they hire as DC will be a guy whose system fits our personnel meaning a 4-3.

I'm not so high on Bosa. I'll root for him like crazy if he is the pick but I'm more on the Nkemdichie/Nassib in the 2nd train

Bosa is not a LEO, he'd likely play the "Michael Bennett" role in this defense which is ok.

A LEO is basically a 43 pass rushing end

If the Jaguars select Bosa he'd likely play the 5 tech, kicking Odrick inside next to Marks. He'd be a matchup nightmare at that position which is fine. Dante Fowler is better suited for the LEO role

Nkemdiche would be the 5-tech

 

Bosa CAN play the 5-tech, but he can play LEO also. Rushing the passer off the edge is literally what he does at Ohio State. I don't understand why people find this so hard to grasp. The LEO is not some special position, it's just a pretty name slapped on a 4-3 pass rushing defensive end. Fowler's best fit is at OTTO.

I think it would also help fowler, that when he comes back, to have dropped about 10 pounds

 

6-3 250-255 would be great for him as a pass rushing OLB
