Quote:The thing is i like bortles and desperately want him to be the franchise. But he's going to throw that chance away if he doesn't clean his game up. We can't sit here and pretend like he had 300 yards and 3 tds and leave it at that. That's overlooking a huge pink elephant in the room.

That would depend on that that pink elephant is though, TC. What do you think it is (honest question)?

Mine is fifty <expletive> three pass attempts (JUST NO!). Blake is at his best (imo) when this offense is balanced. That's just where he is right now in his development and to expect him to mirror Philip Rivers in just his second year (another thread...assuming dude was serious) is borderline insane.
Quote:Just because you are not blindly optimistic doesn't make you a better/worse fan. Anyone that could bear to admit they root for the Jags, in my eyes, should be considered "die hard" fans. There is literally zero benefit.

Optimism doesn't make the fan. The pessimistic fans turned out to be correct, and the optimists were wrong. DEAD WRONG. Giving a certain side a higher rating of fandom would be the same as saying the pessimist know more about football.
Alright already. Go finish your half glass full of I told you so juice
Quote:He didn't play poorly. It really isn't worth discussing with you either so continue beating the drum.

Wow I just can't even take you seriously. Your are purposely contrarian. Noted.
Not sure if it had anything to do with protecting his shoulder, but his footwork was really off in this game.

I wasn't trying to pat myself on the back. I initially loved the Bradley hire, and up until 3 weeks ago I was still on board.
Khan is laughing his way to the bank while the same suckers keep buying the tickets.  This team is a huge disgrace and and a laughin stock of the league.

I have a big problem with the attempts as well. Especially after a sore shoulder injury. I don't think we check down or run enough. If the line is struggling to protect then throw shorter passes on first and second downs.

I don't think the shoulder bothered him much, if at all...and even if it did, we'd never know it for certain. Right now, for this offense to be successful we need to keep BB in the ~30 attempts per game range (+/- 5) and our defense needs to actually get off the field on 3rd down once in awhile. I get the sense that what we saw out of him yesterday was a kid pressing his backside off to make plays to the detriment of the team at times because, outside of his WRs, he isn't getting much help from his defense, special teams or his coaching staff.

I have a lot of respect for Blake and I believe he can be the guy for us...everything else is just so bad right now that I just don't think it's right to put an inordinate amount of blame on him, which some folks are doing (not you...just saying). Anchorman said it best elsewhere: looking at this offense, if this OL ever figures out how to block properly, this offense has the potential to be crazy good. At least that's what my uneducated, kindergarten eyes tell me. Smile

"Anyone who could bear to admit they root for the Jags"??   Bear to admit??   Heck, I would BRAG about rooting for the Jags.   It's a heck of a lot harder to be a Jags fan than, say, a Pats fan.   We should be ADMIRED.   We are the toughest fans in the world!  After what we've been through for the past few years, to still be fans, is amazing!

Very true, we should be invited to the ESPYs every year.

I agree for the most part but some of his decisions are hard to watch. He actually had 4 interceptions yesterday but one was recalled due to defensive holding. The reason why I'm so critical of Blake is because I actually believe he's worth a damn. But I used to be a blind homer for years and always drank the teal koolaid. I actually thought at one point that Matt jones and Reggie Williams were a great wr tandem. I was at the draft party at ever bank in 2003 when we drafted leftwich early because Minnesota botched their clock. I cheered the Byron pick. Haha I was an idiot. I defended these guys to no end. But now no more if I see something wrong I'm not holding back. Blake can be way way better right now if the coaches reduced his attempts and implement a check down for quicker release.
