Hi, Jaguars Nation! Our Jacksonville Jaguars will try to win their second game of the 2015 season, as their AFC South Divisional rivals, the Houston Texans, visit EverBank Field in the 26th all-time regular season meeting between the teams.
Houston leads the all-time regular season series over Jacksonville with 15 games and 11 losses, despite entering the NFL in 2002, while the Jaguars entered the NFL back in 1995, and a rivalry that began when the Texans won their first-ever regular season game over the Jaguars by the score of 21-19 at then Alltel Stadium back on October 27, 2002. Texans has also outscored the Jaguars in the previous 25 regular season meetings games with 587 points to the Jaguars 527 points.
Both teams have players injured to both teams, but the key injury for the Jaguars is the availability of Texans LB Justin James Watt, who suffered an illness during the past week, and might be a game time decision.
Texans unfortunately swept our Jaguars in both regular season meetings in 2014, and outscoring Jacksonville by 20 points, 50-30. Both games were played last December, Houston defeated Jacksonville 27-20 at EverBank Field back on December 5. Texans completed the series sweep three weeks later at New Radiancy Group (NRG) Stadium in Houston on December 28. Jaguars had a 17-14 lead after three quarters, but Texans QB Case Keenum threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Andre Johnson, along with a Randy Bullock PAT, then Justin James Watt sacked Jaguars QB Blake Bortles in the end zone for a safety, with less than six minuites left in the fourth quarter, winning 23-17 back on December 28.
