The punter at Michigan has to be absolutely sick now. I'd transfer....
What happened exactly?

Michigan was up 23-21 with 10 seconds left. All they had to do was punt the ball and the game was probably over. The punter botched the snap and a Michigan State defender picked the ball up and scored with no time left.
If the punter just fell on the ball it would have been game over. Instead he tried to pick it up and kick it but turned it over.

Speaking of which, in a situation like that why wouldn't you just snap the ball, hold it for a second, then fall down?

Yup.

If that were to happen to the Jags,, it would be a total uproar about the pitiful coaching. But, that couldn't be the case with Harbaugh,,could it?

Anyway, Wow. What a way to lose.
Craziest finish I've seen live since the Mike Thomas Hail Mary.
 Good god poor kid

What dumb play, he was turned around and still tried to punt lol, all he had to do was just go down, Mich st was out of timeouts and would have to try a very long FG

He compounded a bad snap by doing what he did, but not all on him.
Easiest job in the world, until a situation like that happens

Much crazier than that one. What the punter did almost never happens.

Remember the clock stops at the change of possession. Not having a timeout was irrelevant. A field goal attempt would have been 55 yards, which the MSU kicker can do. So with Michigan only leading by 2, the punter was in a no-win situation when he mishandled the snap. Falling on the ball would have been really bad too. But I am sure Michigan's special teams coach will have something to tell him about securing the football with both hands after a bad snap.
Oh man, what a sad ending to that crazy play. A fan had a heart attack and missed the end of it. Thank God he/she survived - for the moment, anyway.

Mark Dantonio even said, "Maybe we won on the crazy play."
