Tonight will be interesting to see if Coach Mac is a qb-whisperer, however what level of play do you think he could have achieved if Driskel had stayed and had a whole spring and summer under coach Mac?

One of the things that bugged me the most about driskel was how he would never ever pull the ball on a read option, and when he did the offense moved well imo

There was a topic about him earlier in the year after he had a good game. A lot of bitter Gator fans on here were still ripping the guy. I still think he was the product of poor circumstance. Its late in the first half against Miss St on the road and he has over 200 yards passing, 2 TDs, 0 Ints, and only about 5 or 6 incompletions. And he is doing that against an SEC defense while not having SEC level players surrounding him on offense. He rarely had games like this at Florida with SEC level players around here. So how could he do it now with lesser players?
If Urban Meyer had never left, Driskel would have had a very successful career at Florida. But Meyer did leave. And Driskel was forced into an offense that doesnt fit what he does well. And it turned into a disaster of a situation. Some coaches put players in situations to succeed by asking them to do what they are good at. Other coaches have their exact system and cant change to fit the talent of their roster. I dont think Driskel is some world class QB but in the right system he can be good. But circumstances didnt work out for him at Florida. They could have though had the coaching been different.
He seems like a good guy. But got stuck in a bad situation. I'm rooting for him to cap off his college career with a good season.
btw, are you really in Ellijay? May be up there tomorrow for the apple festival. Great weather.

Yeah man I live off old 5 and the traffic is ridiculous lol. I never leave my house on these two weekends.
