Quote:Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel was questioned by police Monday because of a domestic incident and admitted to drinking earlier in the day, according to a police report.
Several witnesses called police after seeing Manziel and his girlfriend, TCU student Colleen Elizabeth Crowley, arguing in a vehicle on Monday. The argument escalated to the point that Crowley tried to leave the car as it exited a highway.
Both Manziel and Crowley admitted to arguing, and Manziel told police they had been drinking earlier in the day. The police officer made the determination that Manziel was not intoxicated and he was not charged.
Manziel spent 10 weeks in rehab for unspecified treatment earlier this year. It is not known if his aftercare prohibits him from drinking.
While it doesn't look like he'll be in any trouble with the law, this incident is sure to bring the NFL watchdogs sniffing with its new the zero tolerance policy on domestic violence.
Yeah, I mean I'm sure this happens with players all the time and people in general, but Manziel just can't keep it out of public eye.
As a Browns and Jags fan, I will not be unhappy if they jettison the leprechaun of many problems.

I wouldn't be too surprised. His family is loaded with oil money. With the rookie wage scale in place, football might as well be a hobby for him--and he certainly treats it like one.
I've posted this before, but I like it so I'm doing it again. Every time Johnny's name pops up in the news, this is the first thing that comes to mind. Just replace "Jerry" with "Johnny"

This is a non story. If his latest name was Manziel we wouldn't here about it. Just some pre game day news fodder for the nfl. When you have am industry with this type of attention, you better fill up sone headlines.
I think Johnny wants to be released so he can become a free agent. Once he does, he'll be Dallas bound. He's definitely a Jerry Jones sorta player.

Oh, no question in my mind that Jerry wants Manziel and has always wanted Manziel, and the second he can be pried loose from Cleveland, Manziel will be the heir apparent to Tony Romo.
According to the dash cam, his girlfriend said "he hit me a few times". This could get interesting with what the league decides to do.

He's definitely a Cowboy now..

If the league doesn't just decide that he's more trouble than he's worth and start him on the Blackmon plan.
This guy just can't stay out of the news:
Quote:Pettine may bench Manziel for party video
Johnny Manziel | CLE
(November 24, 2015 12:04 PM EST)
Browns coach Mike Pettine said a video allegedly showing Johnny Manziel partying over the team's bye week was "disappointing" and hinted he is considering benching the sophomore quarterback.
"When it's a repeated pattern of behavior, it's a concern," Pettine added. Manziel was just named the Browns' starter after his best performance as a pro against the Steelers before the bye, but it is clear Pettine is fed up with the repeated off-field issues. Pettine confirmed Josh McCown has been medically cleared and is ready to start if needed. McCown threw for 457 yards and two scores Week 5 against the Ravens. He would be a great streaming option.

Meh I don't see the big deal about the most recent incident, I could understand if he was caught driving or something, but a 22 year old drinking at a club during his bye week...what's really the big story.

I was thinking the same, but, he did check himself into rehab before this season.

Thats the thing, he has said and shown he has a drinking problem, so to go out and drink after all that.... not a good sign.
I overall could careless tho, I didnt believe he'd be a star before the draft and so far he has not proved me wrong.

No story really other than the fact that Johnny makes dumb decisions like many people his age. The only problem is that Johnny hasn't seemed to understand that he has to hold himself to a much higher standard.
