Awesome!
I like what I've seen overall from Yeldon. I do wish he would have had a bit more rushing yards last week vs the bucs but so far his stats are pretty solid and I'll take that with growth.
Peyton manning threw 100 picks through his first 5 years. There are a lot of qbs who average 20 picks a year that will never be a five time mvp.

Tom brady wasnt good enough to start as a rookie so by that logic blake will win 8 superbowls.

There are plenty of backs who average less than 4.0 yards a carry and thats just who they are.

Im not saying hes a bust. Im not saying what he will be. What i am saying is that after five games to say that he will be a top five back in the league just because two other guys had similar rookie seasons is asinine.

Let it play out.

then it's a good thing no one has said that huh
<insert hof player> played this poorly his <X> year so <current jaguars player> will be good.

Quote:Bell through 5 games: 80 attempts, 282 yards rushing, 3.2ypc, 3 rushing TDs, 17 receptions, 147 yards receiving 0 receiving TDs

Yeldon through 5 games: 81 attempts, 291 yards rushing, 3.6ypc, 0 rushing TDs, 15 receptions, 73 yards receiving, 1 receiving TD
looking very similar

I know. Personally, that kind of logic drives me nuts. People always like to use that type of comparison.

What never gets mentioned are the players that had similar or better numbers than the <inserted HOF player here>,, and ended up being average/below average/poor players after some time passed.

Just because a newer player has similar numbers to a guy that went on to perform at very high levels,, in now way means that newer player will turn out the same.

Everything has to be played out over time to see what happens.

Here's to hoping Yeldon does turn out to be a stud though!
I'm 95% convinced that Yeldon is a good back. He does a fantastic job of getting yards that aren't blocked for him.

The man needs blocking. Once he's got that, he'll be solid. Not Fred Taylor solid--Fred was a once in a lifetime player--but a very good starter and a very good fit for just about any offense this side of the Greatest Show on Turf.

I love watching freeman run. He shows almost no shifty style..just flat out down hill running almost like he is about to lose his balance and then he makes his cut. He's an old school style runner with a bit of new school. To think I had the chance to have him and Gurley in week 2 for Charles. I hate fantasy football sometimes haha
