Falcons have a better first year HC then Jags have had in a few years. He is in his first year, and is 5-0  mean while our HC can harldy win 1 game in a single season. 8-29 in 2,and a half years. Falcons have a much much better HC then us. He is undeafted in his first year. our HC went 0-8 in his first year.

lol.  They got Matt Ryan and Julio Jones in their prime.  In addition to those players, they just have better talent all around.

I want to be undeafted

Wolfie, I think you may want to lay off of football for a while.

They had Matt Ryan and Julio Jones last year, too. Jones said it best, and screw the Internet for not letting me find this comment again: they have basically the same team this year that they did last. The difference is that this year, they have a coach who knows how to properly utilize all that talent, and last year they didn't.

Quinn is a better coach than Bradley, zero doubt in my mind about that. He's taken a team that was 6-10 last year and got the coach fired and, in one offseason, turned it around to 5-0. Maybe that says more about how bad Mike Smith was at the end than it does about how good Quinn is at this early juncture, but it certainly shows that Quinn knows how to maximize available talent whereas Smith did not.

Now if the Jags could just get a HC to maximize the available talent they have on the roster, we would all be happier, especially Wolfie.
Wolfie, at this point it looks like EVERY team in the NFL has a better HC then the Jags.

Except for the dolphins. If you can't beat gus you're fired.
What I found interesting is he was talking to the media earlier on NFLN and he was speaking about the exact same thing Gus was here. The grit and fight in order to overcome mistakes. They're preaching the same things and Dan is getting the results. I feel like there is a phrase for this...oh yes

That's comment is exactly why I don't want Mike Smith here. If he couldn't maximize Ryan and Julio, then what are you doing?

What? I can't hear you!

Players come to the Jaguars to take a vacation and still get paid. ie. Aaron Ross

How many coaches have the Jags gotten fired over the years?

Didn't we have a season under Gus in which every head coach that lost to the Jaguars was fired?

Yes. 2013 the jags won 4 games, Tennessee, Cleveland and Houston twice. All three teams fired their coach. Gary Kubiak, Rib Chudzinski, and Munchak.

2014 we defeated 3 teams, New York Giants, Cleveland and Tennessee. No changes, but 2 were 1st year coaches and TC is well TC.

2015 1 win, 1 coach gone.

So 4 out of Gus' 8 wins cost another coach's job.
Geez,Looking at the Falcons schedule for this season,, they literally could go undefeated. I know, it's almost next to impossible for a team to go winless (and Atlanta did play a very tight game against Wash this week). But, their schedule is ridiculously easy.

@ Saints

@ Titans

vs Bucs

@ 49ers

vs Colts

vs Vikings

@ Panthers

@ Jags

Really, lol. The Falcons have alot of talent. As long as injuries don't bite them in key areas, they basically have a cakewalk into the playoffs.

Last season, they played the AFCN and NFCN.

That's alot tougher than this season facing the NFCE and the mighty AFCS Lol!

But yeah,, their coaching change is paying off this season. But, didn't they have a couple really good seasons under Smith? I remember them having to play the Seahawks in a playoff round.

Chud got screwed. He should have gotten another year.

I would argue the success of their offense is mostly the new offensive coordinator than the HC. The HC seems to be doing a good job with the defense though. They improved a lot of pieces in the offseason but still a good job there.
Yes Dan Quinn looks like he'd better than Smith..but Devonte Freeman wasn't running like AP in his prime last year. Credit to Quinn for good coaching..but the players are playing lights out right now. I think Bradley would be 3-2 right now for the Falcon if you swapped him with Quinn

This is interesting though. Why is it working for Quin and not Gus?

Is it a personality difference?

Youth inexperience still?

Something else?

How can you both say and do the same things but not both be a good coach?
