This article is Trump in a nutshell
Huffington Post? Nothing to see here...

Lol FAKE NEWS!! You people are too much

“This was a mission that was started before I got here. This was something they wanted to do,” he said. “They came to me, they explained what they wanted to do ― the generals ― who are very respected, my generals are the most respected that we’ve had in many decades, I believe. And they lost Ryan.

“I can understand people saying that. I’d feel ― ‘What’s worse?’ There’s nothing worse,” he added. “This was something that they were looking at for a long time doing, and according to [Defense Secretary Jim] Mattis it was a very successful mission. They got tremendous amounts of information.”

Wow. This is so outrageous. I am so mad at...something.

t. MB liberals

Rolleyes

Do you folks enjoy being mad all the time?
People really need to understand something before they publish/post their idiot ideas.

1.  It was a special forces operation.  Sometimes [BLEEP] happens.

2.  The mission was planned before Trump even became President.

3.  He didn't blame Obama.

Hmm...I don't remember any threads started by op for any of the people Obama "got killed".

1.  It was a special forces operation.  Sometimes [BAD WORD REMOVED] happens.

2.  The mission was planned before Trump even became President.

3.  He didn't blame Obama.

People here are missing the point. Trump did not take responsibility for an action taken under his watch. If you read the article, it presents cases where former Presidents assumed responsibility for anything done on their watch, no matter when it was planned. Trump shifted responsibility, as most weasels will do.

Quote:

Asked about the matter during an interview with Fox News’ “Fox ‘n’ Friends,” Trump repeatedly said “they” were responsible for the outcome of the mission, in reference to the military.

I get the point regarding accepting responsibility for people under you.  The fact of the matter is, the OP and the article are making a big deal out of nothing.  You know, the whole mountain-mole hill thing.

My original three points stand regarding the title of this thread and what the topic is about.

1.  It was a special forces operation.  Sometimes [BAD WORD REMOVED] happens.

2.  The mission was planned before Trump even became President.

3.  He didn't blame Obama.

Those three points are FACT and refute the claim that the President "got a guy killed and blames 0bama".

There is a lot that goes into planning and executing a special operations mission like this.  Where is the real fault/blame?  Bad intelligence?  Poor timing?  Poor execution?  The bottom line as I said is that sometimes [BLEEP] happens in an operation like this.  Accepting responsibility is one thing, accepting blame is another.

The family of the dead soldier will be happy to know it's nothing. Goodness can you take a minute out of your complete adoration?

Why is Trump is even taking the time to defend himself. Truly this is abnormal behavior

They knew they had insufficient intel to conduct the raid. (Hint: that's why Obama didn't do it.)

Trump greenlit it anyways reportedly over dinner.

It fails spectacularly.

Trump refuses responsibility and blames the military that he ordered.

Trump says it was a huge success.

The intelligence community reports nothing of any significance was gained from the raid.

The man dies for no reason - not to mention the dozen or so non-American woman and children also killed.

Trump lies and people die

You would think, JIb, as a former military man, you be appalled by all this.

Use emotion all you want to make a decision about this non-story.  The family of the dead sailor should have understood what his job was.  Nobody said that it was "nothing".

President Trump never "defended" himself, he responded to a question as to how it all went down from a very high level.  He wasn't incorrect when saying that military leaders brought it to him and he signed off on it.  Perhaps he should have stated that he accepted the responsibility for the decision.

As I said before though, he DID NOT as the title of this thread says "get a man killed and blame it on 0bama".  That would be assigning blame and is wrong.

Had he taken the full responsibility then the headline would just be changed to "OMG, Trump approves mission that gets US SEAL killed!!!!!!"

Source?  Because I can almost guarantee that a special operations mission isn't going to be in the press.

Trump greenlit it anyways reportedly over dinner.

It fails spectacularly.

The success or failure of a mission isn't released to the public or the press.

Trump refuses responsibility and blames the military that he ordered.

President Trump never "refused responsibility". - FACT

Trump says it was a huge success.

Source?

Perhaps it was.  I don't recall him ever saying as such.

The intelligence community reports nothing of any significance was gained from the raid.

Source?

Refer to my above comments.  Nothing like this operation is ever made public and the intelligence community is not going to comment on it.  If there is a public comment, there is never any evidence to back it up.

The man dies for no reason - not to mention the dozen or so non-American woman and children also killed.

I could take the time to respond to the rest of your comments, but it's just a waste of my time.

No, you are correct, Trump did not blame Obama directly. What he did not do was accept ownership of a mission he approved. See how many times he says "they".

Quote:

He says the mission was started "before I got here". If he means the military under Obama, then he means Obama's administration, which means he blames Obama indirectly.

"And they lost Ryan". You served, would you want your commander in chief referring to your operational performance in this way?

Quote:You served, would you want your commander in chief referring to your operational performance in this way?

Absolutely.  In his interview on FOX & Friends he even pointed out how one of his staff did something differently than the way that he would have handled it.  He allowed it, and lives with the results of it.  That's the sign of a leader rather than a dictator.

Jump through all of the hoops that you want, the fact of the matter is he didn't accept "blame" and pointed to where the "blame" lies.  It had absolutely nothing to do with the 0bama administration or 0bama himself.  It's the people in charge that make decisions under him.

It's all about "blame" for the left when the reality is that it's all about "responsibility".  The two things are not the same.

Bottom line is, this thread and the OP have an agenda to place "blame" on President Trump for the sailor's death.  The FACT of the matter is it simply isn't so.

Let's look at it another way.  Was President 0bama to "blame" for the Americans killed in Benghazi?  Was he ultimately "responsible" for those deaths?

It's a non-story hyped up by an irresponsible press.

C'mon man, the OP is Oface, he's like The Drifter's mentally handicapped little brother.

I don't blame him for it.

I blame him for his need to defend everything. He is more concerned with himself than he is the country.

It's a good thing W didn't feel the need to defend himself every chance he got. Would have been 24-7 with the media hate he got.
Son signs up for the military and special forces and is aware of the dangers.

Mission is planned under the Obama administration.

They don't carry out the mission in the last days of the Obama administration because they are waiting for a New Moon where it will be dark.

Son gets killed during the dangerous mission (We don't even know--it could have been the son's own fault)

Trump cares enough to show up for the return of remains.

Father, who knows nothing about the mission or circumstances, blames Trump.

Huffpo prints fake news.

2,441 Service Members died in Afghanistan alone during the Obama years.

Would the left like to examine the circumstances of each of these deaths that we are now blaming on Obama?

A waste of time, indeed. He's just another dead sailor after all, right Jib?

Here's the truth:
